If there are 3 posts, is it a thread?

Lee is dealing. He's been tremendous.

I'm going to kill Torre for starting Kuroda in this game.

ok, I must admit that I haven't followed the Dodgers too closely this season, but I'm sort of shocked that Billingsley has been reduced to mop-up duty. What the fruck happened?
   6. Tripon Posted: October 19, 2009 at 01:23 AM (#3357359)
Billingsley went into a slump in the 2nd half of the season, and would alternate between games he pitched okay, to games where he was roughed up. It got to the point where there was some questions he might get left off the roster. He was going to start game 4 of the NLDS but the Dodgers swept, and he was bumped from the rotation because of Kuroda's return to the roster.

God, that Cliff Lee deal has been amazing for the Phils. I didn't think a pitcher could do better than Sabathia did with the Brewers post-deal. Lee's performance, at least, matches.

Yeah, his stats in the regular season were not even close to being as good as Sabathia's, but Sabathia did not help them in the postseason.

Swinging strikeouts are so much more satisfying than strikeouts looking!

Chip Caray is so bad, he can't even get cliches right.

I don't think these California chaps adjust well to chilly weather. I reckon they need an extra day to acclimatize.

The way Lee is dealing, would it have mattered who started for LA?

Still, starting Kuroda when it was clear he wasn't healthy wasn't smart at all. And then keeping him in the game after 4 runs scored shown that Torre had no urgency to this game.

Because baseball is meant to be painful for Met fans, the Yankees will meet the Phillies in the World Series. It is destiny. Sorry, LA fans.

We've actually been chattering in the second, unnecessary yankees thread.

Lee's hit adds insult to injury. The Phillies look in control of this series.

If LA wins tomorrow, then the Dodgers regain home-field advantage - this ain't over, not by a long shot.

How do we know Kuroda isn't healthy? Tonight, he may have just sucked.

Throwing mostly fastballs, and badly missing his location? Sure it may be just rust, but that's why you don't start him in the first place.

I was thinking more that the Phillies have looked pretty strong in two games, and only barely lost a third.

That game sucked.

I completely agree.

I would've preferred a rotation of Wolf-Kershaw-Padilla, but Torre wasn't returning my calls.

They looked really good tonight. They didn't look pretty strong in Game 1, when all their pitchers, starter or relief, sucked it. They won because their offense scored eight runs in that game. That's a great offense but they can't count on it scoring eight runs every game.

Basically, the Phillies are up 2-1 because two of the Dodgers' three pitchers picked the wrong time for a career-worst start. The Philly batters have a lot to do with that, obviously, but they can't rely on it happening every game.

If this comes down to a Phillies-Yankees World Series, I don't think I'm even going to watch.
