Parker is only the second high school pitcher taken in the first round by the Dbacks; the first was Casey Daigle. He also was the fifth high school player taken by the Dbacks in the first round (Jack Cust, Casey Daigle, Sergio Santos, Justin Upton). And if he stays healthy, next year he may be the highest ranked Dbacks pitching prospect in a long time (at least since Brad Penny). IOW, stay healthy, Jarrod

I liked this kid a lot, and would have been pretty happy had the Royals selected him.

I wonder what his innings cap is this year.

The DBacks are desperate for a good young pitching prospect in their minor league system, I mean now that Scherzer has moved up.
