Numbness in pitching hand forces Beckett to postpone next start

First Yaz...and now this!

Josh Beckett’s next start has been pushed back a few days while the Boston Red Sox try to determine the cause of lingering numbness in the his right hand.

“We’ve got to figure out what ... it is,” Beckett said Tuesday. “Obviously, (being pushed back) is not what I want, but at this juncture it needs to happen.”

Beckett was scheduled to pitch Saturday against Toronto. Instead, he’s tentatively set to start Tuesday night when the Red Sox play New York at Yankee Stadium.

“I don’t know. It’s still seven days away,” he said. “We’ll see.”

Take it easy with the Option J next time, Josh.

He uses his left hand for that, didn't you know, Vlad? They teach that in the RS system, to control pitchcount issues.

You yada-yadad the best part! I'll guess that the ellipsis stood in for "on God's green Earth," and SI wanted to remain clear of the religious tilt.

So how does this affect the Pujols trade?

Hope this doesn't jeopardize the whole Pujols trade. Would the Cards accept Lester?

I would say #5 owes me a Coke, but that came 5 minutes after me. 5 minutes!

I'm hoping the White Sox can get in on this deal. Lester beat cancer, and Buehrle beat Lester, making him better than Lester AND cancer. Buehrle and Konerko for Pujols!

Well, I didn't just copy what you said, I reworded it too!

I guess this means the Pujols trade is off.

Is that even legal?

Perhaps he was trying to give himself a Stranger.

Maybe the Cards will consider Lester along with Youks and Paps instead

"He slept on his arm the other night and he came in and felt some tingling in his fingertips," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said.

Tingling? I'm sure it's nothing serious; he had probably just finished listening to Obama speak.
