N.Y. Post: GRUMPY GRIFFEY STILL DISHIN’ BRONX JEERS (RR)

GRIFF RUES JONES BEACH!

Ken Griffey Jr. didn’t make the walk out to Monument Park yesterday, and has no plans to do so this weekend.

He won’t stop to smell the roses, because Griffey figures he will have to hold his nose.

“My favorite Yankee Stadium memory?” the Reds slugger said last night. “It’s leaving Yankee Stadium.”

Griffey is no fan of history, and no fan of the Yankees since Billy Martin, who has been dead for 17 years, yelled at a young Griffey while his dad, Ken Sr., was a member of the Bombers.

Once, Junior said he would never play for the Yankees for that reason alone.

“The Reds haven’t been here in 30 years,” he said before the Reds’ 4-2 victory last night. “For us it’s a road trip we have to make, not something to look forward to.”

Why couldn't that mean old Barry Bonds be more like kind, forgiving, fun-loving Junior!

Griffey's just jealous that he's not a Yankee. Everyone in baseball wants to be a Yankee, they're all just not adult enough to admit it.

Griffey is no fan of history
Are we supposed to infer that Griffey is no fan of history because he has no interest in visiting Monument Park?

Billy Martin, who has been dead for 17 years,

He's actually been dead for 18 years, 5 months, and 27 days, but who's counting?

Ken Griffey Jr also

1) Blocks the history channel from all TVs he owns
2) Boycotts the Baseball HOF since they refused to induct his father
3) Got banned from the Library of Congress for vandalism
4) Believes that the Earth is 500 years old and that Columbus was made up by secular liberals
5) Set fire to the Texas Governor's mansion

So yes, he hates history

What an odd picture in #10. I can't imagine what Bush is trying to accomplish there.

And I'm sure Griffey had just said, "It's like there's a party in my mouth, and everyone's invited!"

speaking of which, I just saw that Simpsons episode the other day. The steroid revelations really color that "brain and nerve" tonic gag. I certainly don't think they'd write it that way today.
