Pettitte says he used HGH supplied by father in 2004

Star witness strikes again!

Andy Pettitte has admitted to also using human growth hormone in 2004, saying it was supplied to him that time by his father, The Associated Press learned Wednesday.

After the Mitchell Report was released, Pettitte said he used HGH for two days in 2002. Last week, Pettitte was asked to discuss drug use in both a deposition and affidavit before a congressional committee.

“In that affidavit, Andy informed the committee that in addition to the two shots a day of HGH he took for two days in 2002, he also took HGH for a one-day period in 2004, shortly preceding season-ending elbow surgery,” his lawyer, Jay Reisinger, said in a statement.

Did Pettitte just rat out his own father?

Pettite later broke down and confessed teary-eyed to downloading music from Napster, doing 45 in 25 mph zone, and tearing off the tags from his mattresses.

Apropos of nothing, it is perfectly legal to tear the tags off of your mattresses... those tags apply to retailers.

So Andy Pettitte never used steroids or hGH.

Well, okay, he used it for two days in 2002, only because he was injured.

Jeez, fine, all right, he also used it for one day in 2004, but only because he was injured again.

Either Pettitte is ridiculous, or he has no idea how steroids work.

What does Pettitte have to do with Steroids?

Seriously, they should leave HGH out of this nonsense. It is useless, does nothing, and confuses the issue.

I thought that was my job.

Good for him. Reasonable people forgive those who admit their mistakes. Now we can move on and focus on winning #27.

I often inadvertently conflate the two because I generally don't care about the issue.

so true ..

in about 5-6 years all of these media types are going to look like fools for their public prosecution of athletes over hgh.

I believe the above statement to be incorrect. After all, why would "Bad Temper" Mickey have been prosecuted for cutting tags off of matresses in "Pee Wee's Big Adventure". And don't use the "it was just a movie" excuse...That never works.

Nice timing on this release...even those obsessed with the steroid story won't spend 1/100th of the time on this as they would had it broke any other day this year.
