A KOAN FOR THE BASEBALL DRAFT

A CERTAIN GM SAW TWO SABERMETRIC INCLINED SCOUTS FIGHTING OVER THE CAREER PROJECTION OF A PROSPECT... THE GM TOOK THE PAPER WITH THE PROJECTION IN HIS HAND AND SAID, "IF ANY OF YOU SAY A GOOD WORD, I WILL NOT TEAR UP THIS PROJECTION AND I WILL DRAFT THIS PLAYER!!!

YET NO ONE ANSWERED, SO THE GM BOLDLY RIPPED UP THE PAPER AND LET THE PROSPECT GO UNDRAFTED!!!

LATER, THE GM TOLD TOLAXOR ABOUT THIS. TOLAXOR REMOVED HIS SANDALS AND, PLACING THEM ON HIS HEAD, WALKED AWAY...

Joe "Joey Bombs" Mather

Homer: Moe, I need your advice. See I've got this friend named... Joey Joe-Joe Junior Shabadoo.

Moe: That's the stupidest name I've ever heard.

(A man runs out of the bar crying)

Barney: Hey! Joey Joe Joe!

"(Not the) Chad Bradford Wannabe" Brad Ziegler called up by Oakland!

Josh Smoker had his full season debut (4 ER in 3 IP for Hagerstown, 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K).

Biggest upset of the day in NCAA tourney action: Bucknell wins at FSU 7-0. Other losses by teams at home were: Lipscomb beat Georgia, Fresno State over Long Beach, UC Davis over Stanford.
