I'm not saying it happens often, just that when it does, it is motivated by the desire to use the C as a pinch-hitter. Again, I think it's poor use of a roster spot, but the Mets obviously don't think they have anyone on the farm who would be a better RH PH than Castro. I'd role my dice and limit Castro to 8th and 9th inning PHing, but then I'm not the one who would have to tell Fernando Tatis to put on a catcher's mask if Schnieder loses his head on a close play at the plate...
Tatis catching? It sure as hell is a better use of his . . . "talents" than Tatis with a bat in his hand, Tatis in left field, or Tatis on the base paths.
Expectations, plus Lemon was seen as too laid-back. It was funny to see Larry Doby rush out to argue with the umps at the stupidest times just because he was supposed to be fierier than Lemon.
Only manager to be fired in the same season as winning a WS. There's a bar trivia question for you.
