Sources: Texas Rangers close to a deal with Rich Harden - ESPN Dallas

Oh, no. Harden should sign with the Red Sox. No, that isn’t a biased comment.

The Texas Rangers are closing in on a deal with right-handed pitcher Rich Harden, sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Buster Olney on Wednesday.

It's a brief report, quoting unnamed sources and I'm not familiar with the writer, Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com, but according to the brief item, Harden has agreed to a $7.5 million deal with the Rangers. The deal would reportedly include an $11.5 million option for 2011.

Bruce Levine is solid. Best baseball reporter in Chicago, if for no other reason than he went after Joe Morgan a couple of years ago on a conference call.
