SportTicker: Rangers P McCarthy leaves game

He stayed healthy for a whole two/three weeks!  Is that a record for him since he was traded to the Rangers?

Brandon McCarthy’s start against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night lasted just seven pitches, as the Texas Rangers righthander exited the game early with a strained flexor tendon in his right middle finger.

McCarthy got Curtis Granderson and Placido Polanco to fly out to start the game, but began showing visible signs of discomfort in his right hand while facing Magglio Ordonez

I got that injury just watching him pitch for the Sox.

Ah well. It's not like John Danks is better, or younger, or... oh wait.

Sigh.

The poor SOB ... I was at McCarthy's last start, last Sunday against Boston, with about 20,000 Red Sox fans in the Ballpark. He was pretty game, although he was getting his head beat in and was totally gassed by the sixth inning, unable to put anything the least bit effective over the plate. When he was pulled, I started clapping as he crossed the basepath ... and realized I was the only person in the whole Ballpark doing so. What a miserable season this has been.

Heh. You know, Philly could use some more fans -- you'd fit right in. How's your booing?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

How's that?

I confine my profanities to the TV room, actually. At the ballpark I'm all sweetness and light.
