The New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez hit his 536th career home run in the second inning of Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
Rodriguez’s solo blast - his 18th of the season - came off a knuckleball from Red Sox righthander Tim Wakefield and tied legendary Yankees slugger Mickey Mantle for 13th on the all-time home run list.
The homer leaves the 32-year-old Rodriguez 12 behind Mike Schmidt, who stands in 12th place with 548.
