In all seriousness, though, I'm glad SOMEONE else noticed the lameness of this. I'm also wondering if Colbert is a Mets fan, he seems to have the proper sense of warm self-denigration that the happier portions of our fanbase have. Then again, this could have been a shot at Stewart, who is a known Mets fan. At least he skewers the Yankees too.

or, being the proud south carolinian he is, maybe he's a braves fan and genuinely enjoyed the dig. isn't that a creepy thought? it would be like finding out a girl you wanted to date was a scientologist or something.
