The Smoking Gun: Roger Clemens’s Stash?

Sweet skins-a-poppin’!....Shades of murkly Alphabet City punk-squatting gruelouts!

Lawyers for Brian McNamee, the trainer who has accused ex-client Roger Clemens of using performance-enhancing drugs, today released photos purporting to show syringes, blood-specked gauze pads, and drug vials used by the embattled baseball star. The photos can be found on the following two pages (it is unclear what the significance is of the Miller Lite can seen in the below image). McNamee’s lawyers have said that the items were turned over last month to federal investigators who have been probing the widespread use and distribution of illegal substances by professional athletes. McNamee has previously charged that he injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone on about 16 occasions between 1998 and 2001. He reportedly kept the used vials, syringes, and gauze as some kind of insurance policy were he to get caught distributing the drugs.

More...McNamee’s lawyers present photos of needles, vials of testosterone.

Well, there's a compelling addition to the debate. What McNamee claims are syringes, blood-specked gauze pads, and drug vials look like...syringes, blood-specked gauze pads, and drug vials!

Seriously, this stuff could be a major part of the debate about Clemens' use, but what the hell is a photo going to prove?

but what the hell is a photo going to prove?

That Miller outbid Anheuser-Busch for advertising rights.

After that primeyworthy line, this thread should just emulate Costanza and say "I'm outta here."

Maybe the beer can has some traces of Rocket's "backwash"?

i thought i read where the needle was placed into the beer can after the injection was given, and mcnamee took it out of the trash later on.

i'll see if i can't dig that up somewhere.

the needle in that picture is a 22 gauge needle, so it is either for steroids or b-12.
HgH uses a much smaller needle.

At least we now have a central exhibit for the upcoming Steroid Wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

i'm confused. so the "items" in the picture were turned over to authorities, or just the photos? if it's the items, then they could prove steroid use via dna test.

I think I'm going to buy it and put an asterisk on it.

The items were turned over. The photos are for the press.

If I were dealing illegal drugs, I would keep the evidence, you know, just in case I ever get caught dealing illegal drugs. Never mind the fact that keeping the evidence increases the likelihood that I'll get caught. Plus, if I'm going to get caught, I'm going to make sure that all my clients, including a man I modeled my parenting after, go down with me.

Actually, just the photos were turned in. The prosecutors are working on a court-order that will require Clemens go to a sperm bank and use those photos to help him provide them with his DNA.

Poor guy, now he's really screwed for finances. I bet he was going to put his kids through college on the money he'd make on Ebay selling those bloody gauzes and needles.
