Todd Jones’ shoulder could place him on D.L.

...as soon as he’s done with the Huge Blow-Up-Sale with the Shoppach home-run network!

Shoppach ‘shows up’ Jones

Shoppach flipped his bat several feet in the air as he headed to first base on his home run off Jones. The bat flip is widely regarded in baseball as a clear sign of “showing up” - i.e., deliberately embarrassing - the other team.

Jones took a few steps toward Shoppach and yelled at him as Shoppach headed to first on his home-run trot after the bat flip.

“I didn’t like it,” Jones said. “I didn’t think it was very professional.”

Jones actually struck out Shoppach twice before the home run -- as shown by both the human eye and the K Zone -- but unfortunately for him the home plate ump was Chuck (I Once Was Blind, But Now I Can't See) Meriweather.

Bad shoulder? Ummmm, OK, works for me ...

Shoppach went 5 for 5 until extras, when he K'd in the 11th with the bases loaded and nobody out. Sweet.
This game was epic. CLE blew and 8-1 lead, tied it up again on a Shoppach HR in the 9th, loaded the bases in the 10th, 11th, and 12th and were unable to score. Granderson had 5 hits, 3 off lefties. Casey Fossum (!) pitched out of the aforementioned bases loaded, 0 out jam and got the win. Cabrera was awesome. I'm glad I live on the West Coast.

That was some game. I left in the top of the 8th with the Indians up 11-7 and by the time I got to my car it was tied. Nice job, Edward Mujica. By the way, what the heck happened to Nate Robertson this year?

He blew up real good.

I haven't noticed any real difference, just he's been more hittable. The one game of his I attended, he threw a nine-inning gem. Of course, it WAS the M's Sunday lineup...
