Tribe addresses weakness in finishing CC deal

“He’s a guy with elite plate discipline, speed and athleticism,” said Tribe general manager Mark Shapiro. “He steals bases and steals them very efficiently. He’s a good defensive center fielder and left fielder. But his ability to contribute as a run producer with his plate discipline and speed complements our organization well. He gives us a set of attributes we don’t have a lot of.”

Welcome to Cleveland, Michael Brantley.

Given Cleveland's saga's at 3B and that Sizmore will be in CF for the foreseeable future (aka, negating much of Brantley's value to them), wouldn't Tyler Green have made more sense?

I assume this is a new Tyler Green?

Taylor Green.

Now I'm really confused. Are you saying Aadik meant Taylor and wrote Tyler by accident?

Now I'm confused. Who's "Aadik"?

Aadik is the poster of #1. He was Aadik for forever, then "The Artist Formerly Known as Aadik" for a long time, and he has been "The Artist" for quite a while. Giants fan, etc.

Brantley is borderline in center and has no power.

Does everything else. But his future looks to be left which means he better get on base at a .400 clip playing left with no homers.

The real problem is that Brantley might be a 1st baseman, not a corner OF. His bat probably won't play at 1st and might not even play in a corner. He's still an intriguing talent though. Shame the Brewers had to lose him.

So basically they'd have been better off keeping CC and competing in the AL Central. Of course we could say the same of the Twins and Santana.

You know what the Twins would have been better off doing? Calling up Liriano instead of screwing around with him for three weeks.

I don't know about that. They got some nice prospects that the Brewers will probably regret losing.

Jeff - ####, didn't think anyone remembered me! ;)

And I'm wrong on the name sorry - I thought it was Tyler Green, but clearly Taylor.
