Tulowitzki to DL due to shard from bat

Tulowitzki required surgery after slamming a bat that shattered and splintered into a thumb. The emotional reaction came after he was taken out of Friday’s 18-17 win against Florida. He will be out an unspecified time

No word if maple or ash were involved.

Tulowitzki is the walking definition of Murphy's Law.

I think after this and Barmes' slab o' venison incident, Rockies' shortstops are the walking definitions of Murphy's Law.

Yet somehow Walt Weiss walks the streets uninjured this very day.

Was it maple?

Middle infielders I have started so far this season:

Rafael Furcal, Troy Tulowitski, Erick Aybar, Jason Bartlett, Jerry Hairston, Aaron Hill and Luis Castillo. I'm going to try to acquire Jimmy Rollins to see if I can break him too.

There's this:

If not for an injury to shortstop Walt Weiss, who was replaced by youngster Neifi Perez

More fun stuff from the same article:

If Rockies, last in the National League West, want to trade for a top-notch starter, they might have to give up Perez or Helton.

I've gone Troy Tulowitzki (quad), Jeff Keppinger (knee), Clint Barmes (knee), Brendan Harris (suck), and now Tulo again. I had Furcal last year.

But they can probably keep Perez Hilton.

Was it maple?

Yes, it was.

If Jose Reyes did this, he'd never hear the end of it.

Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just today, but it seems like everyone's dropping "If (Mets counterpart) did this, he'd never hear the end of it/be getting killed right now". Is it just because they've collapsed as a team, fumbled the firing of their mediocre manager, and underperformed at an amazing level in the past year and a half? Is it because their $100 million pitcher has completed 8 innings exactly once?

We all know there's more media in New York. Not sure there's a need to keep harping on them.

If Keith Hernandez said this, Neil Best would blog about it.
