Vandals strike at a Sox fan’s heart

Sean Bunn, the Triangle’s most prominent member of Red Sox Nation, got back Tuesday night from a fan get-together he organized at Hi5 in Raleigh to find Yankee pinstripes and the Yankees’ “NY” logo all over his condo.

Not good.  Okay, this part is funny:

Whoever broke into Bunn’s place—Raleigh police are investigating—even painted uniform numbers, the 13 worn by Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter’s No. 2, on the backs of Bunn’s dress shirts.

I am not condoning the vandalism, but at least it had some clever parts to it.  I was amused to see a Yankee fan go the conspiracy route.

I am not condoning the vandalism, but at least it had some clever parts to it.

Yet they still managed to misspell the team name.

"I don't think it's a typical fan at all, because they know how to spell 'Yankees,' " Richardson said in a telephone interview, referring to the "Yankes" painted on one wall.

Edit: or what #2 said.

(He is considering auctioning the shirts to raise money for the Jimmy Fund, the charitable arm of the Red Sox Foundation.)

Good for him. Someone will pay $200 for those, and it's not like they're good for anything else.

I know its mean, and I hate the Yankees but that cracked me up. The pinstripes were too funny.

One lifelong Yankee fan suggested it may not have been a Yankee fan at all.

"It has to be a Red Sox fan trying to make us look bad," said Hart Seely, who has a Yankee blog and edited the book "O Holy Cow! The Selected Verse of Phil Rizzuto."
I'll buy that.

Agents provocateurs! The Democrats Red Sox planted fascist agitators vandals in the crowd of otherwise peaceful and tolerant Republicans Yankees fans!

At the advice of the Red Sox, Bunn declined to speak on the record, concerned about potential future break-ins or retaliation by Red Sox fans.

At the advice of the... what?

10: my guess is kevin showed up, claiming to be a part of the Red Sox brain trust

As the spearpoint of the vanguard of Red Sox Nation, Commander Bunn has a delicate hand to play. The Red Sox provide him with men, materiel, and intelligence, but he can't let his guard down for a second as he ventures far from the operating bases.

Red Sox Nation operatives should retaliate by joining Yankees Nation cells and learning about their playoff get together plans... Just imagine the damage they can inflict when the Yankees finally make it back to the playoffs in 2013. The wait will be worth it. In fact, these Red Sox moles should wear the ARod 13 and Jeter 2 shirts that Bunn has in excess in his closet right now.

There's bound to be someone dumb enough to believe they're authentic uniform jerseys.

The pinstripes were added to make the house look thinner. A classic property tax trick.

This is exactly the sort of crap I expect from fans of third place clubs.

Obviously, they were economically illiterate b-tches.

Who's responsible for this LOLocaust?

The suspect's name is unknown, but he was seen getting into a Lols Royce, drove about a half mile, got into a steamloller, drove another half mile and boarded a ROFLtrain. After getting out of the train, he put on a pair of lollerskates and went to the nearest theme park where he rode the lollercoaster. Finally, he left to attend the LOLympics where he purchased a lmaonade with maplol syrup flavoring.

Well of course you can't condone something like this but you can sort of understand the Yankee fans getting a bit over emotional since the Yankees pasted the Sox 13-4 to take a stranglehold on the ALCS with Jeter and A-rod both coming through in the clutch in the big playoff game!

Oh...Wait....

Can somebody explain why when I clicked on more photos there was an option to buy them?

Also who does that to somebody's chair?

This guy's condominium has what the 2008 Yankee pitching staff lacked: location, location, location.
