I suppose you could say that the choice of being employed over being unemployed in a recessing economy is what's best for his family so I guess that's a true statement.
Buck Showalter would not be a good choice for GM.

Posada and Mo both made noises when they were negotiating their contracts, probably just to get more money. It worked.
1. Because he implied as much;
2. Because a new GM might mean a change in the Yankee organization that Mussina is not comfortable with.....
In his recent YES interview with Michael Kay, Posada described Torre as a second father. I'm not convinced money was the motivating factor in the lobbying for him. Posada and Rivera both knew they were going to get paid.
