YANKS CRACK DOOR FOR WILLIE RANDOLPH (RR)

Hey...wasn’t the Crack Door around the corner from the Nuyorican Poets CafĂ© in the Bowery? Thought so.

Randolph, reached in South Carolina by The Post yesterday, said he hopes to land a managing gig, but would be open to returning as a coach under the right circumstances.

However, he was very clear there hasn’t been any talk of him returning to The Bronx, where the former team captain was a coach from 1994 to 2004, and played second base from 1976 to 1988.

“I heard rumors about [Yankee] changes,” Randolph said. “I haven’t talked to anyone. I buzzed Brian to congratulate him [on his new contract], but other than that I have had no contact at all. I’ll try and wait to see what happens.”

..."I will keep an eye on managing,” Randolph said. “To go back to the field as a bench coach or third base coach is an option to explore. Let’s wait and see.”

Dusty Baker's Little League team may need a new manager when Dusty returns to his Reds' duties.

I'd have to assume Larry would only move back to NY if promises were made to step in once Girardi gets the axe, since he seems to have such a good relationship with Joe. And I think Bowa would simply be a terrible manager again. Maybe once he simmers down in about 5 years, but I don't think he's ready yet.

If Randolph were white, he'd get the cocaine door.

yeah, that was a bit of a stretch.
