but there is no "quite possibly" about the astros having the worst farm system in the majors. you should be brutally honest and say "absolutely ZERO question" that the astros are the giantest blackest hole of suckage EVAH when it comes to the minor league system because it is kewl to be a master of understatement

and if there WAS anything there, those effing morons drayton/tal/eddie would trade em away for some washed up major leaguer or, preferably, middle reliever!!!!!

What do you think Fernando Rodney will get on the market? My guess is that he gets a 3 year contract as much as, and probably higher, than Lyon contract. Yet ZIPS projects Lyon's ERA+ to be significantly higher than Rodney's (below 100). (ZIPS projected Lyon as the best relief pitcher on the Tiger's staff, in terms of ERA+.) Therefore if you think Lyon's signing is the worst of the off-season, that shouldn't last long.
