There's a lot less chatter in this Transaction Oracle than the last one Ryan Church was in.

At last the Mets can recuperate this HUGE loss. This is almost like when Seaver came back.

not to mention the Milledge trade

Church is what he is: a starter corner outfielder who won't hurt you too badly (he's solid defensively there) or an excellent 4th outfielder. He could represent a pretty decent bargain for a team that loses out on Holliday or Bay and needs a quick Plan B for a year or two.

He could be an upgrade for any team that goes with someone like Francoeur as their starter.

ZIPS was sure wrong about that d-bag...

I think the Angels could use a 4th outfielder that hits from the left side and I wouldn't mind if they took a flyer on Church. I could see Church/Rivera providing pretty good production for a corner spot. Of course Church's numbers the last couple of years don't look so good, but I'd be willing to try it- they can always throw around money later if need be.

He looks like Delmon Young plus defense and 20 BB.

Amazing that at this point in his so-called career, people still use the phrase "starter" in association with Ryan Church. Somehow, doesn't that indicate he'll be playing for 125 games or more?

I always liked Church for the Cubs but sadly it never happened the first time around.
