Brewers - Signed Thorman

Milwaukee Brewers - Signed 1B Scott Thorman to a minor-league contract.

He gets an invitation to spring training, but there's little to no chance that he gets an invitation to Milwaukee, so there's little chance of any lèse majesté committed against Fielder. Now, injuries do happen and the chairs at Old Country Buffet can be pretty sketchy, so Thorman will ensure that the Brewers don't have to do anything laugh-inducing like teams sometimes do with Miguel Cairo.

That's not a very nice thing to say about Bill Bavasi.

Thorman looks so godawful at the plate that I can't believe he'd ever be even adequate. He's Jeff Francoeur without the physical tools that Frenchy possesses.

I'm not certain, but I think that "starting at first base, Scott Thorman" would be about as funny as starting Miguel Cairo there.

Unless you're a Brewers fan. It sure wasn't funny for me when he started for the Braves...

.277 OBP, sounds about right. Schuerholz and Cox actually tried to make Thorman and everyday starting 1B once. Really, it's true.

ThorMan, the new hero of the most Germanic city in the USA.

actually, i think it's most appropriate that Thor-man, hulking slugger, signed with the Brewers as his name can be assembled from the component letters of that former Brewer slugging hulk ... Gorman Thomas!
