Yes, the trade gets Aaron Miles out of the lineup, but the team could’ve done that anyway

You don't know what it's like to have Tony LaRussa managing your team. Without a proven replacement, Jocketty would've met more success working on cold fusion or finding a young pitcher than Dave Duncan won't mess-up.

Aside from defense, I think the point of the Miles part of the platoon was some weird motivational ploy directed at Luna. TLR obviously decided it wasn't working. Beyond the Miles angle, I really don't care about this trade one way or the other. I am betting that Luna doesn't match his 2007 ZiPS.

Hector Luna is not for real. When his bat vanishes next year and leaves nothing but the fleeting aroma of Craig Paquette, people will finally understand why Tony was spotting his playing time so carefully all season.

Acquired <strike>2B</strike> RF-rover Ronnie Belliard

Hector Luna is not for real.

Does this make him a fraud who poops his pants?

Where are the Mets fans to hijack this?

Luna will be a borderline all star next season if he plays second base everyday for the Indians next year.

Luna came up in the Indians farm system and was lost as a Rule 5 pick.

you know whats funny? that Luna is still listed at 6-1 170

The Mets fans will hijack this deal if the Marquis for Heilman deal leaps from Will Carroll's blog to the headlines. I think even the Mets fans around here will have to admit that Minaya is an idiot if that goes down.

Has one of his trade rumors ever actually happened?

(not health reports - his trade stuff)

Nah, it would be a bad deal, but not a catastrophic one. I would be able to see the motivation, even if the assessment would be poor. Mets fans have lived through worse tortures than this ...
