Awesome.

Grr. Trying to add just enough text so that the site doesn't try to use the graphic as the teaser.

It's still the funniest thing I've read on BBTF in a long time. I spewed generic Cocoa Pebbles all over my keyboard.

Awesome dan, on fb it uses the content policy quite funny in its own right.

So, did the Rangers really acquire him or are you just playing?

Anyway, awesome.

I didn't have time to read the whole way through the chart, but I assume your conclusion was huge win for the Rangers?

   22. Gern Blanston Posted: September 01, 2010 at 11:54 AM (#3631541)
Pretty funny, but I have to say, I still prefer the simple hilarity of toast, and the slow kid's letter to Dayton Moore.

As to the merits: is this that bad an acquisition if, as it appears, he's going to be the short side of a platoon? Frenchy can hit lefties a bit, and can play non-awful defense. That's not worth much, but the Rangers didn't give up much.
   23. rLr Is King Of The Romans And Above Grammar Posted: September 01, 2010 at 12:13 PM (#3631554)
It's going to be a lot less fun watching Francoeur flail for Texas than it was when he was a Met, especially since he might even be halfway useful in a reduced role.

This was a great way to start my day. Thanks to Dan, and to the Rangers.

No he ain't.
   26. Win one for Agrippa (haplo53) Posted: September 01, 2010 at 01:13 PM (#3631579)
This pretty much cements Jon Daniels-as-Mets GM next year, doesn't it? (Which overall I think I'd be OK with, but still... he'll never not have traded for Frenchy ever again).
   27. ColonelTom Posted: September 01, 2010 at 01:22 PM (#3631585)
Primey.

Primey for sure.

Apparently, ESPN rejected this because "there's no way anyone traded for Frenchy; we don't publish analysis of fake transactions no matter how funny."

This is the conundrum of Francoeur. He is not a completely horrible player like say Kevin Cash. The problem is that the Braves and then the Mets seemed determined to make him a regular player, a role he was utterly miscast for. As a platoon partner/4th outfielder type he is a reasonable guy to have around. Of course his whining both in Atlanta and New York about being a backup does not inspire confidence that he will slide into this role in the long term well.

I am pretty sure that mid-season acquistions of Bengie Molina and Jeff Francoeur "doesn't that mean "french heart"? Guarentee a World Series victory for Texas.

Because nature cannot abide smug sabrematricians.
