Transaction Oracle — A Timely Look at Transactions as They Happen Thursday, December 06, 2007Nats - Signed BooneWashington Nationals - Signed 1B/3B Aaron Boone to a 1-year contract. This comes in at an even million. Boone had his first useful season in a long time, which essentially amounted to getting hit with a lot of pitches in a part-time role. There's not much Boone offers that dozens of other fringe players don't, with the exception of being a long-time target of Bowden's non-sexual mancrush. 2008 ZiPS Projection - Aaron Boone

And we believe this because?
Ever hear Bowden talk about Boone?
The time that sticks the most out in my mind was when Bowden was fired by the Reds and he was doing the ESPN stuff for the trade deadline. When the Yankees acquired Boone, Bowden went completely nuts, talking about Boone non-stop and how he was a lock for 30 homers and 100 RBIs every year (Boone never did either) and on-and-on about how great Boone was defensively at every infield spot. The other guys moved on to other news, but Bowden kept trying to steer all the discussions back to Aaron Boone and eventually, they stopped talking directly to him. It was definitely one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a sportscast.
Ah, knew I missed something big.
Seconded.
