The way he is hitting who can blame him.

In fact he should be celebrated for his toughness.

Then again if his situation worses to the point where he is worse than Jay Payton he should take some time off.

.350 EqA, solid defense in right.

Maybe this thing will cut into Nixon's production at some point - depending on what the hell it is - but for now I guess I'm relatively optimistic.

And if Nixon's leg does fall apart, the glorious Chip Ambres era is ready to begin.

is it phlebitis?

that's what almost took out richard nixon ...

i like to tweak my g.f. (she's GOP) and say that nixon should have had it in both legs.

man, i keep forgetting that the sox won the ws pretty much without trot last year... but losing him would really hurt. when he's on, he's one of the top corner outfielders in the game (well, vs. righties)

"And so now what I am going to do, and incidentally this is unprecedented in the history of American baseball, I am going at this time to give to this television and radio audience a complete medical history. Everything I've sprained, everything I've broken, everything I healed. And I want you to know the facts."

Can he play four more years?

he'd have to pass through constitutional waivers, i think.

Geez, I haven't seen a headline that began with the words "Nixon won't disclose details..." since 1974!

really ... where's repoz when you need him?
   15. Urban Faber Posted: May 16, 2005 at 04:21 PM (#1340840)
If he can't play, that would be too bad because we wouldn't have him to kick around anymore.
   16. bunyon Posted: May 16, 2005 at 04:24 PM (#1340851)
So, you've been kicking him around, eh? Well, at least we know what's wrong with the leg now.

He's going to add you to his list for this.

It's too bad the Sox traded away Lew Ford. HE would've made a good successor to him.

The 1918 Red Sox had Sam Agnew.

ANd the Sox had a John Kennedy at one point. No Haldemans, Liddys, or Ehrlichmans, IIRC. And Roger "Bebe" Repozo never played for the Sox either (Although Arquimedes Pozo did have a cup of coffee)

Nixon's ailment issue for Red Sox

Something is ailing Trot Nixon. Question is: What exactly?
...
The only clue to what might be ailing Nixon were a few electronic patches he wore above his left knee as he sat in his clubhouse chair before Monday's game.
...
Nixon, in the Monday report, said he doesn't envision a disabled list visit but believes he will need to be operated on at season's end, which is at least 4 1/2 months away.

"I was a little surprised to see that," Francona said. "I'd let you ask him that. I think that's the best way for me to handle that."

From the Globe's postgame report:
Nixon wasn't close to making a play on [Kotsay's triple], which may or may not have been because of his unspecified leg injury. Nixon, before the game, said he didn't want to discuss his injury, though it's something that led Francona to replace Nixon in the field late in Saturday's game at Seattle. He wore a giant ice pack on his left knee postgame.

He's a cyborg. That's worse than steroids.

Lousy inferior cyborg models. Always breaking down or near breaking down.

It's too late for the Sox to turn him in for a replacement. Jesus the Christ of Nazareth has already redeemed him.

trot really looked like #### in the field last night.

His cao is just about the dirtiest I've ever seen. How could it be so dirty this early in the season? It looks like he drove over it with his pick-up truck about 500 times and then buried it in the yard.

His cap. I'm sure his cao is also dirty.
