The address for the Riverside Station is 390 Grove St, Newton, MA. It's right off either 90 or 95, wherever you're coming from. (map)

The train ride should be ~30 minutes, and you should probably give 10 minutes for waiting on a train.

You can get off at either Kenmore or Fenway. Either way, it should be pretty easy to follow everyone else toward the ballgame.

Are you planning to come early for tacos? That's at 92 Peterborough St, back behind Fenway toward the Fens. (map)

Darren-

you want to take the 95 to the grove street exit (exit 22). that's one exit south of where the mass pike (90) crosses 95. take grove street east and you will see the riverside station. there's plenty of parking there. there should be signs and stuff at the exit.
   203. chris p Posted: June 03, 2005 at 11:56 PM (#1380757)
i think you can also get to riverside directly from the mass pike offramp without getting onto 95. there are lots of twisty ramps and stuff, but there are signs.

i don't know much abotu the mass pike--when i've been to riverside it's been from the grove street exit.

You know, I don't really have something distinctive to wear, so I'll just have to go ahead and seek you guys out.
   205. chris p Posted: June 04, 2005 at 12:49 AM (#1380821)
don't you have any porcupine tree t-shirts?
   206. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 04, 2005 at 12:59 AM (#1380827)
Oh, I won't be going to El Pelon Taqueria pre-game. I'm poor enough as it is.

don't you have any porcupine tree t-shirts?

I pretty much wear only monochromatic stuff. I'm boring that way. I'll probably have a black t-shirt, jeans, and a Sox cap. Oh, and even though this picture is from a year and a half ago, I still look the same. So, yeah.
   207. chris p Posted: June 04, 2005 at 01:04 AM (#1380829)
biff, you cannot properly prosletyze a band without a t-shirt. go get a porcupine tree t-shirt right and wear it to the game and then we'll be able to find you!
   208. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 04, 2005 at 01:10 AM (#1380831)
I'M TOO POOR TO BUY A T-SHIRT!
   209. chris p Posted: June 04, 2005 at 01:13 AM (#1380834)

Well, I have no cell phone numbers for any of you (email me if you want mine) but I am planning to find my way to Game On at 5 PM and ask for Mikael's table. I'll be wearing an Abreu/Phillies t-shirt.
   211. chris p Posted: June 04, 2005 at 01:31 AM (#1380843)
phil's number is posted upthread somewhere. i think it's a cell.
   212. Darren Posted: June 04, 2005 at 09:04 AM (#1380950)
green shirt, plaid shorts, probably a grey fleece pullover, messed up short hair, possible Sox hat.

Given the heat, I've reconsidered the long sleeve pink shirt. I've got jeans and a blue horizontally striped shirt, instead.

I'll be at Game On a little after 1 wearing a blue Mo Vaughn t shirt

OK, I guess I'll be wearing a 2004 Red Sox World Series Champions T-shirts. Shouldn't be too many of those around, right?

Thanks to everyone who showed up, and especially to Mikael for making it happen.

The songs I was talking about with Fly were "Somebody Rock Me" and "Boulevard of Broken Songs" from the right column on Party Ben's site.

   232. HCO will do anything for smooth music Posted: June 05, 2005 at 12:41 AM (#1382358)
11:30? And you guys got there ahead of me. That's a lot of drinking and money.

I had 5 pints, which is a lot for me at a bar.
   233. chris p Posted: June 05, 2005 at 12:47 AM (#1382367)
i think there were 34 harpoons on the check.
   234. Fly's New Handle Was Too Long, But Clever Posted: June 05, 2005 at 01:12 AM (#1382388)
That's it?
   235. chris p Posted: June 05, 2005 at 01:31 AM (#1382400)
That's it?

well there were some sam adams and some guiness ... and those shots of jack daniels. 34 was just the harpoon count.
   236. chris p Posted: June 05, 2005 at 01:32 AM (#1382401)
and lots and lots of Fosters (you know, Fosters is Australian for Beer!)
   237. Mikαεl Posted: June 05, 2005 at 08:04 AM (#1382452)
Hey y'all. I had a great time last night. Thanks to all for a good party.

(Wasted? Yeah, a little. Although I'm feeling pretty ok this morning, please remind me in the future not to try to keep up with Australians.)
   238. Mikαεl Posted: June 05, 2005 at 08:21 AM (#1382458)
Phil - here are some North End restaurant recommendations, as discussed:

Assaggio, 29 Prince St, nice sit-down place, decorations a little tacky, but very good food (map)

Daily Catch, 323 Hanover St, little hole-in-the-wall, few tables, great seafood (map)

La Summa, 30 Tony DeMarco Way, great traditional Italian, nice place (map)

There are a ton of other good places, but those are some of my favorites.

Hope y'all have a great day (and a better game) today. I had a lot of fun with y'all.
   239. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: June 05, 2005 at 07:31 PM (#1383499)
Had a great time yesterday as well. Shame we lost, the game was there for the taking.
   240. Darren Posted: June 05, 2005 at 11:09 PM (#1384009)
Has anyone seen or heard from Embree since that game?

Phil, where are you off to next, Chicago right? When are you heading there? Be sure to thank Lu again for me.

I didn't see him in the bullpen...

We head to St Louis early morning tomorrow for three nights before we head to Chicago.

Lu said no problems and was glad to meet you all.
