As I mentioned in another thread, I thought these were very interesting and might change our opinions of some of our prospects. A couple off the top of my head: Alvarez’s stock should go way up, Shoppach’s way down. Paps and Lester’s good HR rates now look excellent and Pedroia’s power takes a very small hit. Murphy and Moss take a pretty decent sized hit as well. And trading Murton to get Minky looks awfully foolish.

Darren, I use a FONT SIZE command for preformatted tables, too, to make the projections the right size in TO.

We traded murton AND Nomar for OC AND Minky. I recall Theo saying that there was no way he could have gotten Minky without putting Murton in the deal. We'll never know if the deal could've been done without Murton/Minky, but somehow I think it could've been.

bah, anyway, you can follow...his HR numbers jump a bit, as does his average, and while his doubles numbers fall a bit, not as much as his HR numbers increase.

What we really need are park factor numbers for every stadium by handedness.

From the Richmond #s, I'd say that it means Marte should have had about 3.3 more HRs last year and 1 less 2B. Full season pace, 38 2B, 35 HR at AAA at age 21. Of course, that .89 in Ks would seem to mean that his dramatic drop in Ks was not so dramatic. Greenville, his 04 home, had a 1.07 K factor.

I really would not mind dealing Marte for a young, great CF like, I dunno, Sizemore! (He'd fit Cleveland's needs better--they could put him at 3B and Coco in CF.)

Also, for Marte, it can't help to play on a perennially terrible team like Richmond. I know there is evidence to say that lineup protection effects are minimal but it could just be demoralizing to be on that team. I have to imagine the clubhouse is often a mess

The difference is that when you make a post, all HTML is allowed, but EE only gives you the options of allowing all HTML, safe HTML, or no HTML (other than the text itself, of course). You have more options with HTML in the intro than there are in the responses because while we can trust the people who have the keys, we don't want anyone to be doing any old wacky thing in the comments.

The point is that maybe we could've done it without Murton. If we could've done the OC thing without Murton and just not gotten Minky, I'm sure we would've been fine. I have a hard time believing Minky was integral to the title.

We probably could have won the championship without OC as well. Nomar hit .297 .364 .455 with the Cubs after the trade and played almost every day. He was a butcher in the field, but that hasn't stopped the Yanks from winning a few.

The trade worked out well, but let's not just assume that the OC led directly to the championship.

Also, I enjoy eating my cake and having it too.
