I guess he is leaving on a sour note, I take it?

I mean, rooting for the White Sox?

BAcklasher will like this anyway.

rooting for the White Sox?

Voros is from Chicago, and he said his dad is a die-hard White Sox fan. It doesn't sound like he's bitter towards the Red Sox.

it's not true, of course.

Does this mean that really is "Larry Bowa"?
   5. philly Posted: October 05, 2005 at 12:19 AM (#1663628)
Would it be wrong to start a BTF rumor that he resigned in protest of the Luchino faction refusing to play Petagine?
   6. Larry Bowa Posted: October 05, 2005 at 01:31 AM (#1663676)
Yup. I keep telling you and telling you it is me and no one believes me. I sit here and pour my drinks and my guts out, bang my head with you guys at managers being stupid... and still I am doubted. Oh well. Better this way, I guess.

I learn a lot from you fellas. You'll see when I get back in the dugout that my time amongst you was put to good use.

You are going to manage Boston in 2006, with a laptop that is logged on to chatter???

That is cool!!

Sorry, guys. Voros mentioned this a few weeks back on usenet, and I didn't think to mention it here. That he was rooting for the White Sox was a surprise to me, but I knew he was no longer working for the Red Sox.

Thanks for the part you played in the championship, Voros.

I am maybe a bad fan, but I didn't know Voros worked for the Red Sox. I thought he just did the occasional consulting work for them or something.

1-0 in World Series in the Voros era!

Thanks for the work, my man.

And so it goes.

Thanx for whatever it is you did, VM.

Yes. V-man wasn't with the Red Sox by the time Petagine was healthy.

Will he be back and doing stuff for the site?
   16. tfbg9 Posted: October 05, 2005 at 12:58 PM (#1664261)
Yeah, good job Voros. Best of luck!

Woohoo! Red Sawx Nation salutes you, Voros! And so does BTF Nation! :)

So does this amp up the "backlasher vs the world of DIPS grudge" feud?

Somewhere a world weary, slight gray backlasher is saying... just when I thought I was out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN!
   20. Dan Szymborski Posted: October 05, 2005 at 02:16 PM (#1664485)
Actually, Voros is more moderate with his use of DIPS than some of the arguments that BL has been railing about, so I don't expect too much fighting.
   21. Voros M. Posted: October 05, 2005 at 03:29 PM (#1664632)
Yeah, no hard feelings toward the Red Sox (exactly the opposite, I'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me), but blood is thicker than water. I'd really like to see my Dad get to see the White Sox in the World Series again, so there is where my loyalties currently lie.

As for whether that Voros M. is me (and I guess this Voros M.), yes it is. I had to get a new screen name because I couldn't get the old ones to work.

Aha, didn't think to check Sox Therapy.

Welcome back to the outside world, Voros, and I'd add my thanks for all your efforts over the last couple of years.

I have to admit, one of my ole perfessers, now 80 and in failing health, is a hard-core White Sox fan, and I wouldn't mind a bit if he got to see his team win it all this October. I can't imagine entertaining such thoughts had the Red Sox not done what they did last Fall... so, see how you've helped to make the world a better and more generous place?

So, when is the tell-all book/blog going to come out? Or are you still bound by some sort of NDA for your time there?

To echo the others, thanks and welcome back.
   26. Repoz Posted: October 05, 2005 at 06:16 PM (#1665164)
Welcome back Voros!

Now we can get back to the real important biz...Have you picked up Childish's "Sex Crimes of the Futcher" yet?
   27. 1k5v3L Posted: October 06, 2005 at 03:24 PM (#1667242)
Repoz cracks me up, and 75% of the time I have no freakin' clue what he's talking about...

Welcome "home," Voros!
