Gentleman Bastard - 26 December 2007 04:16 AM Hayden is 95 of ###### 119 balls. This is a test match, Matty!
Thats a good one hour for India though. Thats more pressure than the whole of the SL series!
good point. Sri Lanka never turned the screws once on the Aussies
Hayden used to bat really slowly, but that was 10-12 years ago! Backs himself which is great to see.

Clarke saved by a whisker against KUmble. Didn’t pick the googly, and it shaved the stumps

Just not India’s day when I am watching. Hayden plays an ugly hoick, and it goes over the top of offstump.
Still nice hundred. God, I am sick at the sight of him.

His record since the famous tour of India in 2001 is a frigging joke.
I’d love to see his average since that series

Kumble has turned this one around, helped by some rash shots!
but damn, thats a good result for a batting track after 0/135

Lee threatening, Johnson innocuous to date, but no runs yet.

A fews thoughts during the lunch break…
* I was really happy with our score because I think we’ll score a fair few in the next dig.
* India’s running between the wickets is a disgrace in my opinion. A few twos there should have been easy threes but they don’t run hard out of the gate.
* Brett Lee is bowling amazingly well. Johnson was good buy he doesn’t make the players play at many of his deliveries.
* Huge session coming up.

I sent my brother and dad to the store to buy me a tuner, and now they are stuck there negotiating for a surround sound system!!
They better be here before the lunch break is over!!

I was hoping Dravid got thru to lunch. might have been a different player after. India need 400 in this innings to make a match of it.
Indian running. Heh, am surprised people still are talking about it. Its been like that for ages. Laxman recently scored a century where all his scoring shots were singles or 4s. I was surprised it took 20 overs to get the first boundary. Indians live on boundaries.
crucial first half hour after lunch. Clark and Lee bowling I assume.
This is where us getting no batting practise before the test might hurt. But still, the wicket is playing decent. should aim for 400+

I didn’t hear it, but I know the gist of it, I bet. criticised Dravid. call for Sehwag to open and Dravid at 3. And lot of talk about Sachin.

I hope it is Lee and Clark.
I forgot to add before that yesterday was the most fun I had watching an opening day in a test for a while. I went home (kids were going crazy and stayed there, so I was able to watch the game from when Clark got out) and put the feet up.
330+ runs and nine wickets. We had a bit of everything and could not have asked for a better start to what is looking like and enthralling series.
Tendulker, Ganguly and Yuvraj - I’m excited!!

He praised Dravid for opening knowing that he is putting the team before himself.
He really struggled didn’t he?
Dropped catch, out on a no ball and plum before he got out. He just never got comfortable.

Just about to read Roebuck’s summary of the days play…

Roebuck praised Kumble - rightly so.

He wasnt plumb. Had a nick on that. Yea, thats a typical Dravid struggle. Somedays he will get through it, and score a hundred. Most days, the hundred is saved up for later. I am not worried about him. He plays test cricket the real old fashioned way.
Don’t expect fireworks from Sachin. he has been playing very slow of late. Dravidesque, we term it :)
