Announcement!
The Oscar Gamble Baseball Organization (“OGBO”) has been born : http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/OGBO/
In brief :
• A DMB league that begins with the 1975 season. No DMB experience needed.
• We will advance season-by-season through time. All players will have playing-time limits about equal to their real-life playing time (except in the playoffs, and except for full-time position players).
• Minimum time commitment of about five minutes per week. Owners are not required or expected to play head-to-head but may. Generally, “home” owners will play the series against a computer-controlled visitor (or vice versa).
• Games are played in 26 blocks of six games each, every four days. (Seasons will be 156 games long). A season will last about 15 weeks plus 1-2 more for championship or playoff series.
• We are aiming to have 16 teams.
• No drafts of any kind except a short initial 6-round draft to allocate the best players fairly. Every year, rookies are assigned randomly to the teams.
• Ten key proposals to be voted on by the owners in order to help give the league some further structures.
Constitution is available in Word and .pdf on the website for you to review. Please sign up there to express interest.
