Birthday Meet-Up!
Posted: 16 February 2010 03:36 PM   [ Ignore ]

The birthday in question being mine, of course. Actually, we don’t have to meet-up on birthday proper, but I’m just working on getting it recognized as a major event.

In any case, it has been sometime since the last NYC meet-up, and since baseball season is starting soon, we could get together to make our predictions/drink.

I’m fairly flexible on the date, but perhaps the first week of March? Johnny Damon should have signed by then, so we’ll have something to talk about.

you should put the city in the title, so I know to ignore this.

I’m in.  Also, my self-imposed hiatus from BTF is going to need an exception for Meetup threads.

First week might be tough for me. How about Thursday, March 11th?

But, I digress.

You all should have met up for the big birthday, December 20th.

The omission was deliberate and well thought out.

March 11th works for me.

Yeah, I suppose he was in sex rehab at the time, anyway.

It’s actually kind of sad how much better than Tiger’s actual statement this is.

I know people have advocated for Campbell Apartment in the past as a meet-up venue, what do we think of that?

Does it prominently display the YES Network so I can watch some spring training?

Also, one of my offices is downtown now. I’m happy to come up but wouldn’t mind a downtown meet-up at some point in the future. Of course, I am a bit out of the loop on downtown spots.

Actually, the Yankees are on YES that day, facing old friend Melky Cabrera and the Atlanta Braves, live from Steinbrenner Field!

So maybe we should pick somewhere with a little more of a sports bar theme

Well, being that the Yankees are on, I’d vote for Tonic or a similar sports bar place. Other thoughts?

Shall we say Tonic around 6:30-7 on Thursday? I’ll wear my Yankee Stadium wooden seat cufflinks, so you can all recognize me.

And Shooty will be stopping by, so you know it’ll be a good time.
