Katz’s/Keens Meet-Up
Posted: 13 April 2010 06:19 PM   [ Ignore ]

Hello All,

The meat eating NYC Primates—that’s AZ, Scorino and I—have been thinking about doing a meet-up at one or both of these locations in the near future. April 22nd (a Thursday, and Earth Day which is always nice to eat a big hunk of beef) or 29th (also a Thursday, albeit one with fewer symbolic implications) have been suggested but we have other open dates. Post away!

I’m good for both days.  I prefer Katz’s because I’ve never been, but I’m sure I could scrounge up something from the menu at Keen’s too.

Do they serve mastodon?

Is there aught we hold in common with the greedy parasite,
Who would lash us into serfdom and would crush us with his might?
Is there anything left to us but to organize and fight?

22nd is better for me.  No preference on the joint.

I’d go neolithic for some corned beef on rye.  The sauerkraut should also provide beneficial bacteria in my gastrointestinal tract.

I’m also open either day. I vote for Katz’s as a nice change in ambience.

But, I digress.  54-46 was my number, jail guitar doors, right now someone else has that number.

So let’s aim for Katz’s. Unless someone experiences a preference, I’m going to say let’s do it the 22nd, because the sooner I get some pastrami, the better.

So what time is good for the crowd? 7 usually seems to work but if people have strong feelings earlier or later that’s fine by me.

If people feel like beers nearby afterward I highly recommend Standings. They have the MLB standings written on their chalkboard every day.

Apologies and regrets. I was salivating for this meat-up all week, but I won’t be able to get out of work. I even had my teeth cleaned today to make sure my chewing ability would be maximal.

Enjoy!
