triple A pitcher, Steven Straberg on an “innings count”

what does the community think of this idea? The nat’s tell us that he’s on a strict innings count, he will not work more than 160 innings this year. (he’s a young fastball phenom currently in triple A and scheduled to get to the bigs at some pt in early June).
If the Nats remain in a pennant chase, should he pitch beyond 160 innings?
Some commentator on the local radio 980 AM said that they have studies that show that injuries occur when pitchers increase their pitching load a vast amount over the previous year; it’s no so much a lot of innings but the jump up from season to season. Is there any evidence of this?

I wake up in the morning, fold my hands, and pray for rain.
I got a head full of ideas that are driving me insane.

I wonder if this still works.
