I couldnt find anything in english about this.
after Chaves was reelected for 6 years more and proclaimed the new socialism in venezuela, professional baseball is considered a cultural element against the revolutionary process
Johan Santana said it would be a serious mistake

Actually I am hoping that Chavez does everything that is associated with communism.
He can start by taking control of the media and declaring himself president for life.

I don’t think it will take too long for other natiions to recognize that they don’t want to follow that path.
It won’t end Sharia style dictatorships, but should advance democracies in the non-moslem world.

Uh….I don’t have a problem with pretty much anything Chavez is doing, nationalized baseball included.  As long as he doesn’t stop the beer girls in extremely short shorts from parading around Caracas, I’m down with more Socialism throughout South America and baseball.

Chavez has been demonized already by the media. Look at the way Katrina victims were treated.Just imagine other countries.
