C'mon Ricky!

Game is on MLB Network, at least in NYC.

I'm getting the Jays @ Rays on DirecTV 214 (MLBN alternate) in soufeas Florida. Not looking good for Niemann thus far.

Nobody wants the shtinkin wild card this year.

Jesus, does anyone want to win the Wild Card?

#######, just ####### win some games already, Rays! Put us Red Sox fans out of our misery of having to watch this team.
   6. boteman Posted: September 24, 2011 at 11:30 PM (#3935342)
Maybe that's the Rays' secret plan: just fritter away any chance of catching the Red Sox in order to prolong your agony?

No wonder the Rays gave away free parking last night, who wants to witness this implosion.
   7. boteman Posted: September 24, 2011 at 11:40 PM (#3935344)
Rays are of the Red Sox school of baseball defense.

Niemann out?

I missed the 1st, did he hurt himself at some point in the inning?

The Jays announcers--which, tonight, are the only announcers apparently--seem to think he was hurt from the start, back issue.

Oh look, Niemann gave up some runs...wan't right, maybe hurt and Madden took him out.

Yet, tomorrow Tito will give the ball to Wake, and after that Lackey. Rather than stretch out Aceves, or cobble together a game of Tazawa, Doubront, Bowden...the Sox will take their chances against the best AL team in baseball with the two worst pitchers in baseball.

[9] Yeah, weird, there's no TB feed. That's just ####### sad.

And Lobaton showing why his OPS is 0.362

Gotta love those offensive catchers.

Apparently Sun Sports thinks Florida Atlantic getting slaughtered by Auburn is more important. The sad thing is, as far as Florida's fans are concerned, they might be right.

Almost a FANTASTIC play by Rodriguez. Still, pretty to watch.

The Rays are really going to give this gift-wrapped opportunity right back again, aren't they?

Maybe the Angels want to play in October ...

Are the Blue Jays outfielders prohibited from communicating with each other out in the field?
   16. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 25, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3935360)
Jesus, he was out by 20 feet.
   17. boteman Posted: September 25, 2011 at 12:18 AM (#3935363)
The Rays radio guys made comments along the lines of "The Jays could contend in any other division in baseball". I would have to disagree, courteously, based on their defensive lapses thus far.

Go go Zoby!
   19. aleskel Posted: September 25, 2011 at 12:32 AM (#3935368)
man, how much of a bite is it that Ben Zobrist isn't Jewish? With Braun and Youkilis already stars, we could have been looking at a golden age for Jewish major leaguers

It would be even worse if his name was actually Ben ZoBRIS, as the Jays announcers seem to keep calling him ...

Wow, Damon giveth (2004), and Damon taketh away (2011)

OK, I admit that is overstating, but...
   26. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 25, 2011 at 01:34 AM (#3935395)
Romero deserved better than the little league effort his defense put in.

Oh boy, Farnswacker time ...
