Other then its lousy hitting, defense and starting pitching, this is a great Cubs team.

Yup. Eyeballing it, should be over 6.00 after tonight. And, true to tonight's form, his career 2nd and 3rd inning ERAs are stellar, at ~2.50 and ~1.60, respectively. Watch out next inning, though -- a career fourth-inning ERA of 6.82.

Thank God tomorrow's game is on WGN. These Nationals announcers are beyond bad-approaching Hawk Harrelson territory.

They were intolerable even when the Nationals were terrible. I can only imagine what it's like right now.

I'm not even sure who Quade should put in there right now, but it seems odd that the young Carpenter seems to be the defacto guy to bring in any time there's a mess.

How is Wood's ERA this low? Is it just the total lack of clean innings that's got me thinking it should be a lot higher?

The Nats' pen is impressive. But the Cubs are still a ####### mess of a team. Second worst record in baseball.

Missed this game, but sounds like the typical 2011 Cubs game. I see that young Carpenter stranded his first inherited runners tonight, though. That time in the minors is already paying off.
