I guess this is the Friday thread?

It'll have to do, just to note Campana's first professional homerun.

That was pretty damn amazing. That man can fly.

I'm not sure he's ever hit one out of the park in his life.

Yeah, you don't see too many inside-the-parkers on routine doubles down the third base line. Actually, I'm not sure that was even a routine double for most hitters, since slower runners might have been held to a single if the ball was fielded cleanly.

So I don't know what was more amazing - Campana's speed or Alonso's truly epic fail in left field. I do know that the HR was a foregone conclusion as soon as it was apparent that ball was rolling all the way to the wall.

Colvin with a more conventional homerun. The Cubs need to just let him play out there for the rest of the season.

I just woke up from a nap, but from what I've seen, both teams are doing their best not to win this game.

Soriano's Legs is the star of the game so far.

Soriano, on the other hand, is just sad.

Something tells me Dempster is getting a no decision today.

Now there's a good rebuttal to the conventional wisdom that "you have to send the runner with two outs." I know Barney's no Soriano's Legs out there, but he is one of the quicker guys on the team, and he was out by 15 feet, and Ramirez is coming up with the bases loaded if you keep him at third.

Oh great, Marmol puts the first man on. That usually ends well.

I was going to post the same thing, Brian.

Doesn't matter in the end as the Cubs lock it down. Cubs are really soiling the postseason plans for some teams this week.

Something tells me Dempster is getting a no decision today.

He got his victory, but geez, he deserved a no-decision today. 6 walks? I missed a big chuck of the game and didn't realize how shaky he was.
