i think schwimer's throwing a screwball here. it looks like he's throwing two breaking balls, one, a traditional slider, and another which definitely has some armside fade to it.


his fastball is thoroughly unimpressive, though. it doesn't have great velocity, he looks like he's having trouble locating it, and it doesn't really move.

it's not so much that i need to see consistent excellence from a pitcher, but it's just really annoying to watch kendrick pitch. line drives to all fields, hard groundballs hit through the infield, frequent deep counts leading to a high number of walks, capped off by the all-to-frequent 3 run homerun.


i know there's a place for kendrick on a major league roster, but i really wish it wasn't on this one.

there were some really bad calls that shut the team down in the late innings, but polanco didn't ground into a double play in the 8th because of them.
