so, the phillies are coming off a 3 game sweep of the atlanta braves, and, for the first 3 games of this next series, the probable starters are hamels, halladay, and lee.

should be fun.

6 run 6th inning so far for the phils. all runs scored with 2 outs. and they're doing it without utley, without rollins, and without howard.

oh, and if i'm not mistaken, polanco just got his first XBH since june.

Yeah, yeah, I predicted that outburst. Honest, who didn't see it coming? 1 hit in 5 2/3; 6 runs, 7 hits/1 walk before the next out. The Brewers struck out the side.

That was some awful route that Gomez took to the ball.

gary matthews, on being told that the t-shirt of nyjer morgan's alter ego is the highest selling product at miller park:

"oh boy"

and ffs hamels, stop it with the ####### homeruns.

Narveson has this habit of either blowing up in the first inning and settling down or pitching a gem through 4 or 5 and then blowing up. It's almost never not blowing up at all. I don't get him.

when he elevates his fastball it's really easy to hit a long way.

if what you're seeing is accurate, it'd likely be because he either starts the game missing his spots high and gets hammered, or, as he tires, he leaves the ball up and gets hammered.

I missed this inning tonight, but that's what the Phillies broadcasters are saying what happened and I tend to believe them. It's just that this pattern with him is epically irritating.
