Jeter's second-half resurgence is really starting to piss me off.

What he said
   102. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:36 AM (#3901927)
That dude sitting next to Maddon looks like Rio Ferdinand
   103. Dan Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:36 AM (#3901928)
Crawford is either pressing really badly due to the contract and/or playing in Boston and/or just leaving the organization he played with his whole career, or there's something wrong with his vision. He's so far beyond just slumping.

##########.

About Lester, I have to say that I was disappointed with how 2010 ended for him. No 20 wins, ballooning ERA, etc.

That sucks.
   106. GGC Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:39 AM (#3901933)
I'm usually the only chatting about the commercials. Glad there are some others here willing to complain about them!

Spider is wrong. Tequila is a liquor, not a cocktail.
   107. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:40 AM (#3901936)
Hey, you played a weaselly tool on a gangster show, so let's make you the expert what's cool on our Tequilla commercial.
   108. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:40 AM (#3901937)
Annoying run to Upton the hack - #### he shits me - he has not done jack sine his fluke 2008 ALCS
   109. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:41 AM (#3901939)
Throw beat him. That usually gets the call. Bad tag.

Are you ####### serious? Nice fielding ########.

Are you ####### joking?
   112. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:42 AM (#3901942)
That fifth run is a joke - jesus Varitek is a useless catcher
   113. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:42 AM (#3901943)
What the #### Aviles.
   114. Jose is an Absurd Force of Nature Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:43 AM (#3901944)
Jed Lowrie can go to hell. He sucks, he absolutely sucks.
   115. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:43 AM (#3901945)
This inning is ridiculous.
   116. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:43 AM (#3901946)
Sorry - it hit Zobrist - the Varitek throw to Lowrie was rubbish anyway
   117. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:43 AM (#3901947)
Oh FCS Phil how is that Varitek's fault?
   118. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:44 AM (#3901948)
Oh FCS Phil how is that Varitek's fault?

Sorry - I was completly wrong - thought Tek missed dropped the ball as I am watching on mlb.tv

Lowrie is really bad in the field though
   119. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:45 AM (#3901949)
The rundown play was entirely Aviles' fault.
   120. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:45 AM (#3901950)
What does FCS mean?
   121. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:46 AM (#3901952)
For Christ's Sake.
   122. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:47 AM (#3901953)
That's piss poor.

Didn't matter as Morales was going to give it up anyways.
   123. GGC Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:47 AM (#3901954)
What does FCS mean?

That's the level of college football that schools like UNH play.
   124. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:48 AM (#3901956)
Hey, on the subject of bad commercials. How do we all feel about the WB Mason ads. Sort of racist, no?
   125. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:48 AM (#3901957)
This blows. A 3-2 loss would have been frustrating but this is...this is pig-#######-ly frustrating.
   126. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:49 AM (#3901958)
Morales has looked just good enough to earn an important spot that he will use to ruin the Sox.
   127. Jose is an Absurd Force of Nature Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:49 AM (#3901959)
the WB Mason ads. Sort of racist, no?

Absolutely.

I like the baby commercial though, he was cute.
   128. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:50 AM (#3901960)
For Christ's Sake.

Ta - yeah as I was saying I really screwed the pooch on that one.

Anyway back to the real world as it is not even midday here and I need to finish this wine and cocktail list.

See you all for the Kansas series hopefully.
   129. Dan Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:50 AM (#3901961)
The rundown play was entirely Aviles' fault.

This is the truth of it. He didn't run toward the runner, and made a throw to third when the guy was halfway down the line home. Just awful, awful execution by Aviles.
   130. GGC Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:52 AM (#3901964)
WB Mason ads. Sort of racist, no?

Dunno, but who is Taco Bell trying to appeal to with that ad?
   131. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:52 AM (#3901966)
Alright, I have stowed my anger away. The Sox will now erupt for 3 runs in the 8th.
   132. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:55 AM (#3901972)
Which ad, GGC, I missed it.

Why is McDonald playing? Why not DH Youk?
   133. Jose is an Absurd Force of Nature Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:55 AM (#3901973)
Aviles could have made a better play but having a third baseman with even a modicum of skill would have made it irrelevant. What exactly does Lowrie do? He can't hit, he can't field, he can't run, he sucks.
   134. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:56 AM (#3901974)
Sox look terrible at the plate today.
   135. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:57 AM (#3901975)
We're Southwest--our employees are bland tools.
   136. GGC Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:58 AM (#3901976)
Which ad, GGC, I missed it.

Old school rap about some $5 meal. Prominently includes scratching. I don't know. Is that popular again? Time for bed.
   137. Jose is an Absurd Force of Nature Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:58 AM (#3901977)
They've looked terrible for a couple of weeks. I know it's just been today but taking Ortiz out of this lineup makes it look a hell of a lot less imposing. They seem to go from great to weak pretty quick.
   138. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 01:58 AM (#3901978)
Corona--our alcoholic drink will solve all your problems.
   139. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:01 AM (#3901979)
I'm not going to defend Lowrie beyond saying he was put in a position of having to make a difficult--though not impossible--throw. But Aviles made 2 consecutive mental errors: he didn't run at Zobrist, and he threw to the wrong base to boot. And on top of that it wasn't a very good throw either.
   140. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:09 AM (#3901983)
Swings at ball 4
   141. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:10 AM (#3901984)
NESN still judges fielding by errors - brilliant stuff
   142. Dan Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:10 AM (#3901985)
I'm legitimately beginning to wonder if Gonzalez will hit another home run this season.
   143. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:10 AM (#3901987)
At what point can I officially Worry about Gonzalez?
   144. Darren Posted: August 17, 2011 at 02:11 AM (#3901988)
two more solo hrs. Yuck.
