Is it just me, or do you feel better about a game started by Miller right now than one started by either Wakefield or Lackey?

...not that any of the three make me feel great.

Given the so-called burnt out BP, and the continuing adventures of Albers/Wheeler/Morales/Doubront...

...what the Eff did Okajima do?

8 wins 1 loss 2.29 ERA in Pawtucket. 8.5 k/9, 5.3 K/bb ratio

That's just criminal not to use him in Sept.

Cool, umpire already injecting himself into the game.

More seriously "cool": Ellsbury now leads in WAR on Fangraphs. That depends heavily on buying their fielding numbers, but hey!
   4. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:13 PM (#3919862)
Wow. You'd really expect Pedroia to get the run in there.
   5. Darren Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:15 PM (#3919863)
Ortiz--what a bum.
   6. Darren Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:19 PM (#3919864)
Okajima at one point said he'd rather stay in AAA than be shuttled up and down to the big club. I think that rubbed some the wrong way, so rather than discipline him, they decided to bury him.
   7. Darren Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:21 PM (#3919865)
Escobar was a real steal. One of many for the Jays.

Good thing they wedged Scutaro into the top of the lineup so that he could use his hot bat to give away an out.
   8. Dan Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:22 PM (#3919866)
Why is Scutaro only a good baseball player in Canada?
   9. Darren Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:23 PM (#3919867)
Tim Hortons.
   10. Dan Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:36 PM (#3919873)
Do we really need to get totally ###### by this #### finding holes when it's Romero vs. Miller?
   11. ray james Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:38 PM (#3919875)
I'm really beginning to loath Miller.
   12. Dan Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:40 PM (#3919877)
I really wish that they had used September to see if Miller would be better than Morales as a lefty i nthe bullpen rather than keeping him in the rotation. But I suppose someone has to make the starts.
   13. ray james Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:43 PM (#3919879)
What is Miller's WHIP? 2.83?
   14. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:56 PM (#3919884)
Wow, a home run off of that swing?
   15. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 08, 2011 at 11:59 PM (#3919888)
Jesus, already down 0-5 in the 3rd? Red Sox pitching after Lester/Beckett/Bedard is ####### atrocious.
   16. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 09, 2011 at 12:00 AM (#3919893)
After this start, I could see them trying Miller in the pen, but he seems like he'd be pretty terrible there. His WHIP is way too high for a reliever.

Can Tazawa start? Has he regained strentgh from TJ surgery? Gotta be better than Miller/Wakefield/Weiland....
   18. Srul Itza Posted: September 09, 2011 at 12:05 AM (#3919900)
It appears that the Yankees and Red Sox are conspiring to make the Rays relevant in play-off hunt. Perhaps as an argument against revenue sharing and payroll taxes?
   19. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 12:18 AM (#3919910)
Plus, you could never bring him in with runners n scoring position. He'd soil his trousers.
   20. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 09, 2011 at 12:19 AM (#3919912)
The Red Sox look like they're trying to bookend a great season with two periods of absolute suck.

Well, he does have plenty of experience pitching with men on base.
   22. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 12:24 AM (#3919916)
On a positive note, Reddick seems to have caught his second wind.
   23. Jay Seaver Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:04 AM (#3919933)
Scoring!
   24. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:08 AM (#3919936)
A single here could make a game out of this.
   25. Jay Seaver Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:08 AM (#3919937)
Forgotten in his power display this year: Ellsbury is fast. That didn't get very far into the outfield at all.
   26. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:10 AM (#3919938)
Thank you, Marco.

It would involve an element of justice, after yesterday's fiasco, if the Sox came back today and won this.
   27. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:17 AM (#3919942)
bowden should be given a shot at Miller's or Wakefield's starts. He could hardly be any worse.
   28. ray james Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:18 AM (#3919943)
Err. check that.
   29. Dan Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:50 AM (#3919957)
We get a tease tonight too, eh?
   30. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:51 AM (#3919959)
Francisco has not been impressive.
   31. Dan Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:54 AM (#3919961)
Why didn't Gonzalez bat instead of Spears?
   32. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 09, 2011 at 01:58 AM (#3919965)
2 days in a row they pass up the opportunity to make up a game on the Yankees.
