I'll be watching Rays - Yankees as well as this game, so probably talking a bit about that game in here as well, but the thread velocity on the main board will probably make it impossible to keep up while also watching 2 baseball games.
I'll save my rants for here, though...
I can't believe how nervous I am.
I felt that way too, but I thought saying it would ruin it.
Thanks, José!
I think not.
Well, actually, I'm rooting for you guys. Even so.
I hope this presages a Gibsonian karma with the "I think I've got one good swing" thing.
Well if he can't pitch well tonight, it probably means he would've sucked in the playoffs too. They wouldn't be going far in the playoffs without Lester and Beckett pitching well anyway.
I have no faith in Lester btw
This as well
I really don't know what to expect.
Holy crap Tito, you figure that one out in game 162?
So when you were batting Crawford 2nd, you didn't think it was important to get your best 4 hitters as many Pas as possible?
I sort of hope this is true - but it would never be admitted to. It looks like it though
Gutsy and the right call. I like it. I'm not rooting for the Sox, but I hope he does well tonight.
I'd say Lackey, Gonzalez, Drew, and Crawford are in the mix.
Definitely Beckett and Lackey. Probably Lester. Maybe Buchholz. Maybe Youkilis. Maybe Cameron. Probably Varitek.
Me too - #### - I've been criticized for my passion a little too much on the mainland - the last thing they need is chatter during the biggest game of the year
Cutter looks bad so far but the good fastball is a great sign...
To me, 2010 is all about the injuries. The whole difference between the club's projected and actual wins was injuries. I guess you could say they got injured because of conditioning, or something.
This is also on the Sox continuing to take the piss out of baseball and throwing a novelty act there every 5 games
I said in another thread that this year's Red Sox remind me of the 1983 Celtics.
How many unearned runs?
In his first PAs with the Sox, I thought he was too passive. That one he took a pitch to drive on 0-0 and swung at a pitcher's pitch. I think he could benefit from some coaching on approach at the plate.
That's what I was alluding to. Out of shape players end up getting hurt.
It irks me that the Sox thought it was more important to get him 200 wins. They clearly thought the spot was sewn up.
Lackey and Weiland are another rant
But I've never seen a worse effort in my life from a pitching rotation over the last 4-5 weeks.
He really has trouble commanding.
Sox look real relaxed in the box tonight so far - good signs
