One run just ain't enough for Paps tonight - how do the Sox not have a 3-4 run lead - this game slays me sometimes
   1104. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:50 AM (#3944039)
Burn through that pen, please.
   1105. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:51 AM (#3944042)
One down.

1st & 3rd, no outs for the Yankees.

Yankees have runners at corners - they'll squander

Chavy!

1st and 3rd none out for Yankees. Can they squander?

Are their AAAA players as lame as the Sox starters?
   1114. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944069)
Two down.
1115. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944070)
Nice.
1116. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944072)
Papelbon knew he couldn't touch that. Beautiful.

ONE MORE ####### OUT - ONE MORE
   1118. ray james Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944077)
Yanks have 1st and 3rd with no outs.
   1119. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944083)
Well that's one way to #### up a rally.
   1120. Scoriano Flitcraft Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:54 AM (#3944084)
Golson!

God, it's never easy for you guys.
   1122. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944092)
Of course it can't just be a one-two-three inning dammit...
   1123. ray james Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944094)
Arrrggghhh.
   1124. Weekly Journalist_ Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944095)
haha, Yankees still trying to throw the game
   1125. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944097)
Everything about this season is a ####### joke - first the squander - now this
   1126. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944100)
[clutches heart] I'm comin'!
   1127. Jim Wisinski Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:55 AM (#3944101)
I was hoping that would get played into an ITPHR. Not much confidence in the Orioles doing two things right in this inning.
   1128. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:56 AM (#3944103)
What is this Chris Davis ####? Can they fire the Red Sox advance scouts when they fire the rest of the coaching staff for their inability to get him or Andino out?
   1129. toratoratora Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:56 AM (#3944105)
C'mon. 1 out. Is that asking to much?
   1130. Weekly Journalist_ Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:57 AM (#3944115)
i literally can barely breathe this is so exciting
   1131. ray james Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:57 AM (#3944116)
I don't want to face Andino. Paps has to get this guy.
   1132. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:57 AM (#3944118)
2-0 to a righty. You're supposed to dominate righties Papelbon.
   1133. toratoratora Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:58 AM (#3944123)
Last time I was this much on edge was 04
   1134. Jim Wisinski Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944126)
Do the Orioles really have nobody better than Reimold to hit with here? Legitimate question, it's the Orioles so it's quite possible they don't.
   1135. toratoratora Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944127)
1 strike. C'mon c'mon c'mon
   1136. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944128)
Screw you, Yankees.
   1137. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944130)
#### you golson you ######
   1138. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944135)
And Gardner swings at ball four on 3-1 to complete the squander.
   1139. Scoriano Flitcraft Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944137)
Unbelievable.
   1140. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944138)
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-----
   1141. Dan Posted: September 29, 2011 at 03:59 AM (#3944139)
This team is a joke.

Fuuuuuuuuccccckkkk!!!!!!!!!

There goes the season

Well done Boston
1148. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944163)
Papelbon goes fastball happy. Beat him with the same pitch twice, has to go to the well one more time. Use the ####### split.
   1149. toratoratora Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944165)
I hate baseball. I ####### hate it.
1150. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944166)
This is...disappointing.
   1151. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944171)
What awful location. He threw that right down the middle!
1152. Davo's Favorite Tacos Are Moose Tacos Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944175)
This night--I'm sorry, but this transcends everything.
   1153. Jim Wisinski Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944176)
This night of baseball is really tense and exciting, it would be more so though if both the Rays and Red Sox weren't complete embarassments at this point.
1154. Dog on the sidewalk Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:00 AM (#3944179)
Wowzers.
   1155. Darren Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944182)
Andino is the perfect ending.
   1156. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944184)
This is the dumbest of dumb #### teams we are witnessing - I just can't believe this - what a joke
   1157. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944185)
Good night, all. I would be a mean person to too many people if I stuck around. MCoA, I trust you'll post the off-season thread?

The only thing that has kept me sane has been the company of Therapudians. For that, I thank you.

'night all.
1158. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944188)
One strike away in both games. Un-#######-believable.
1159. Benji Gil Gamesh Rises Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944189)
That.

That was ungood.
1160. Davo's Favorite Tacos Are Moose Tacos Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:01 AM (#3944190)
I can't believe both of these games got tied with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the bottom of the 9th. That's just insane.
   1161. Mattbert Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944198)
I can't believe I'm going to turn up to work a zombie tomorrow for this ####.
1162. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944205)
And they lose on a dropped catch.

Fire everyone.
   1163. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944206)
Andino. Crawford. ####### perfect.
   1164. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944207)
Only appropriate that Crawford #### up a defensive play to end it.
1165. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944210)
Well ####. What a perfect way for this season to end.
   1166. Dan Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944211)
Ah hahahahah Crawford dropping a ball to end the season. You couldn't have scripted that #### any better.
   1167. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944212)
Collapse complete.

Fire everyone.

Good night.
   1168. Jittery McFrog Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944215)
This is horrible
   1169. Mattbert Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944217)
Perfect ending. Perfect.
1170. Jose Is The Most Absurd Thing on the Site Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944219)
They deserve this. This team brought it on themselves.
   1171. Darren Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944222)
perfect
   1172. toratoratora Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944225)
And how appropriate that Crawford shanks it and blows the season.
"Guess I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
   1173. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:02 AM (#3944226)
WOW!
   1174. Jim Wisinski Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:03 AM (#3944234)
Holy crap......the Rays could actually punch their playoff ticket at any moment.

I'm still pissed at them for tonight though.
   1175. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:03 AM (#3944238)
And over to ESPN we go.
1176. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:03 AM (#3944241)
I actually want the Rays to win now. This Red Sox team shouldn't be going anywhere.
   1177. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:04 AM (#3944242)
Crawford the Embedded Ray.
   1178. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:04 AM (#3944243)
I'm lost for words - please let the Rays win - I hate this team too much
   1179. Dan Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:04 AM (#3944249)
Chokiest bunch of chokers that ever choked.
1180. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:05 AM (#3944253)
They never did get their heads out of their asses. I've never seen players this good play this poorly for so long.
   1181. villageidiom Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:05 AM (#3944254)
Now the best hope for Boston is not just that the Rays lose, but that they do so in the 31st inning.
1182. Benji Gil Gamesh Rises Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:05 AM (#3944257)
The only way this can get more insane is for Proctor to put up another zero and then have someone like Austin Romine win it for the Yankees.

No, I'm not the least bit confident of that.
   1183. Jay Seaver Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944265)
Well, at least that was quick.

Crap.
   1184. Dan Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944266)
Rays win!!!
   1185. villageidiom Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944271)
Well, never mind that thought.
   1186. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944274)
Of course, Longoria does it.
   1187. Darren Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944279)
Good riddance. Cheapest HR ever since Dent.
   1188. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944283)
Season is over now - thank god.
1189. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944286)
Hell of a game, though. That was one of the most exciting regular season games I've watched in a while.
   1190. Mattbert Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944288)
As if anything but a Longo HR was going to happen there.

Out-standing.
1191. Benji Gil Gamesh Rises Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944289)
Jim, congrats.

I still hate those ####### cowbells though.
1192. Jose Is The Most Absurd Thing on the Site Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944291)
Congrats to the Rays. I'm happy for Jim, he's a good guy. This team deserves this.
   1193. Scoriano Flitcraft Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:06 AM (#3944292)
The most amazing evening of baseball ever.
   1194. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:07 AM (#3944307)
Jim, I hope the Rays beat the Yankees because Girardi let them win the game. Good on you; best of luck. Beat the MFY for us, if you please.
   1195. villageidiom Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:07 AM (#3944310)
Congrats to the Rays. I'm happy for Jim, he's a good guy. This team deserves this,
Seconded all around.
   1196. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:08 AM (#3944315)
Honestly - I think I am relieved - I'm done.
1197. Jose Is The Most Absurd Thing on the Site Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:09 AM (#3944320)
Phil, I'm with you. This team sucked it out of me. Time to get to work.
   1198. Jim Wisinski Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:09 AM (#3944321)
Thanks, though I feel kinda dirty. I mean, I really hope the Rays go 11-0 and win the World Series and all but they're just as undeserving of a playoff team as the Red Sox or Braves would have been. But hey, around here we take anything we can get!
   1199. Phil Coorey is a T-Shirt Salesman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:09 AM (#3944324)
All the best to Jim - one hell of a guy and so much fun to have around here.

See you guys later - I love you all heaps

Take care
   1200. Chip Posted: September 29, 2011 at 04:11 AM (#3944331)
No Eck or Gammo on the postgame to deconstruct this properly. Instead we get Rice to mouth incomprehensible platitudes.
