A friend of mine has been interning at the Daily Herald, which has afforded her a few opportunities to photograph the Cubs this season. Here's one from the day before the season opener. I found it appropriate, given how many of us have felt like making a similar gesture to many Cub players in 2011.

That was quite the disappointing turn of events.

I prefer that over the White Sox getting a run on the board without having a hit in the game.

But as it is, Juan f'n Pierre is poised to have two game-winning hits in the series.
