Carlos Beltran - All Star. Hearing those words again makes me very happy.

I'll say it now: I want Beltran to play out the rest of his career as a Met.

Hard to see how they'd replace his production in RF if he left. If he's a 2-3 million/year sign, I say do it. If he costs substantially more, then he's too risky.

As someone who has a Carlos Beltran jersey, I agree with Rask. I was hoping Gee would sneak into the game, even though he doesn't deserve it.

Rivera got a giant strike zone on Beltran's at bat.

Paulino!

Bay! Duda! Paulino!
   7. AJMcCringleberry Posted: July 03, 2011 at 09:33 PM (#3868466)
Shouldn't they pinch run for Duda?
   8. AJMcCringleberry Posted: July 03, 2011 at 09:34 PM (#3868467)
He was out by a mile, shouldn't have sent him.

Jesus, can't anyone field at SS?

Meanwhile, Gritner guns another one down ...

I have no idea why he got sent. He was dead meat.
   11. Joshemy Posted: July 03, 2011 at 09:36 PM (#3868471)
AJM, the only guy left was Hairston, who had to hit for Frankie if Tejada walked. You could have used a pitcher to pinch run, put Hairston in left and moved Bay to first I guess.

I woke just in time to see Rivera fail. Duda was out by about as much as I've ever seen anyone be out, but oh well.

When Sunday afternoon Mets-Yankees games featuring Rivera blown saves get <10 posts, things are bad in Mets chatter world.

Maybe that's a "Rivera is pitching" send. I can't imagine anything else.

Ugh Angel, should have just played it as a double.

The way Pagan played that, they're lucky it only became a triple.

Gooo Pena.

Is Jeter the best defensive SS they have?
   19. Dog on the sidewalk Posted: July 03, 2011 at 10:04 PM (#3868489)
They probably have some guy in AA who could hit .150 but play passable D.

Jason Bay, hero to all.

Hey Jason Bay!
   22. AJMcCringleberry Posted: July 03, 2011 at 10:05 PM (#3868492)
BAY, #######!
   23. Raskolnikov Posted: July 03, 2011 at 10:10 PM (#3868493)
