Also, why does Valentine refuse to address whoever the real announcer is?
I was amazed that ball almost got through, didn't seem very hard hit at all.
But yeah - it sux a bag of dicks as we speak.
Cool.
#### - you should have seen me on Saturday night - I was an idiot
None of those things make one a great commentator. You have to have a great voice, and Schilling doesn't have it. I'd read articles by him, but I don't want him coming through my speakers.
Watching Pedroia and Youkilis develop, you wonder about the scouting category of "upside". How valuable is that category if Youkilis and Pedroia can become MVP candidates?
Also, that ball was horrifically played by Jeter. Scutaro makes that a pretty easy DP.
You would last about 5 minutes in Australia watching sport if it was based on voice then - jesus Fly - do you like anything?
Seems the only thing you like here tonight (Joe ####### Morgan) - is pretty much universally laughed at by 95% of baseball fans I know.
The amazing thing is that it sucks so badly yet it's vastly better than yesterday's FOX broadcast was.
By a power of 100.
As to Schilling, he's a complete ass but not a bad third or fourth man in the booth.
Now there's an indictment.
Fly - there's a lot of guys with commentating jobs who have neither good voices nor anything of interest to say. Having quite a few things of interest to say puts Schilling ahead of many of his would-be peers.
100%
The only thing I dislike here tonight is the announcers. The Sox have been playing quite cromulently. It's been a great game.
Funny but neither player projected to have much upside. Neither oozes tools. It was thought they had already maximized themselvescoming in.
Ok - I'm looking forward to Paplebon hopefully pitching later as well
I like Orel - that drip of sweat call was pretty cool.
I can buy "ceiling" with guys who may not even make it out of AA, but once a guy's in the majors, I don't know how much utility the category has.
Seriously? Nuñez is the one who hits a homer?
Youkilis looks like a bearded fire hydrant with glandular issues, and as such he can never be adorable.
Still no curveballs the whole inning?
