I'm going to the game tonight. I've been to 4 so far this year. ... they won 2, and the other 2 they probably would have won if it hadn't been for Embree. With Embree gone, I expect a win!
   2. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:05 PM (#1595867)
I think the line-up I'm reading has a typo. It says "Youkilis, 2B".
   3. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:09 PM (#1595876)
Noting that today's game is against a lefty, I still feel compelled to point out that Petagine has not started in 8 games and has only started 1 of the last 18 games.

It was nice while it kind of lasted.
   4. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:10 PM (#1595877)
Now, admittedly, he's only put up a .900 OPS in 30 PA, so there's no reason for Tito to want to use him.
   5. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:16 PM (#1595893)
Is this thing on?
   6. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:23 PM (#1595911)
I'm reading the chatter, but not watching the game for another half hour.

I missed Super Sweet 16 and Laguna Beach on MTV last monday while sitting out a rain delay in the bleachers, so I am watching them now.

I know. That's really, really sad.

Well, I won't be watching Thursday for the The OC premiere, so I'm with you, basically. Though The OC is actually the best show on tv, so I've got that going for me.
   8. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:41 PM (#1595931)
The OC premiers on thursday? Well...I guess I'll be watching that too, then.

Well, I won’t be watching Thursday for the The OC premiere, so I’m with you, basically. Though The OC is actually the best show on tv, so I’ve got that going for me.

I don't know you anymore.

The OC premiers on thursday? Well...I guess I’ll be watching that too, then.

You either, but less so. You didn't say "best show on TV".

In other news, I joined the Boston adult kickball league yesterday. I played collegiately, but haven't put on the kicking shoe in a few years. I think it'll take a while to get the rust off, but I could contend for the MVP.

And, there's a guy on one of the teams whose nickname is "Donnie Kickball." It's hard to imagine a better beer-league nickname than that.
   11. Chip Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:50 PM (#1595943)
I just have one small request: can the ####### Red Sox stop ####### swinging at pitches out of the ####### strike zone against ####### Bedard? He's thrown like 3 strikes and 50 balls in two innings. Pay attention to Youks AB!
   12. Chip Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:54 PM (#1595948)
Oh Jesus Christ. Now a HBP on a 1-2 pitch, a WP, and a PB to hand the Orioles a run on a silver platter.

Unfuckingbelievable. This is the most frustrating team to watch EVER.
   13. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 03, 2005 at 11:59 PM (#1595960)
That Jason was such an ass to Jessica.

Baseball time!
   14. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:04 AM (#1595967)
Nice swing by Edgar there. It almost dropped in. And, of course, everyone loves the Productive Out.
   15. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:06 AM (#1595973)
That must have been the most boring interview in the history of baseball broadcasting. They were literally discussing grass growing.
   16. dirk Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:11 AM (#1595979)
Thank you for finally swinging the conversation to something I care about. Jessica is such an idiot to put up with Jason, I hope he throws his pitching arm out in a masturbating accident.

Talon is obviously the heir to the Stephen "Smooth and Stupid" throne though. When he ammended his confession that he loved Taylor by telling her, "I don't love you, I L-U-V you", to keep both her and Kristen (aka "Bombs" to my friend Paul) on the hook I was impressed.
   17. Mikαεl Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:19 AM (#1596006)
Dear Everyone,

You suck on a suck kebab marinated in suck. I'm going out now, so I won't have to watch you suck.

Still too sober,

Mikael
   18. Chip Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:19 AM (#1596007)
This is pathetic. The Tejada double was just awful luck, but Manny and Damon's plays were complete head-up-the-ass #######.
   19. Mikαεl Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:21 AM (#1596014)
Wait, on which show did someone both say "I don't love you, I L-U-V you" and be named Talon? Because I need to watch this show.
   20. Mikαεl Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:26 AM (#1596027)
As I've said all year:

Everyone on this team sucks, except Kevin Millar. He absolutely f****** crushed that.
   21. Chip Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:26 AM (#1596033)
Just stay hot ########. Just stay hot. You have four full months of ineptitude to make up for.
   22. Chip Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:27 AM (#1596037)
Hey, F*** Face is now nannied!
   23. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:34 AM (#1596051)
Mikael: That would be Laguna Beach: The Real OC, monday nights at 10pm on MTV.
   24. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:36 AM (#1596056)
Hey, F*** Face is now nannied!

Damn.

Millar OPS watch: .759!
   25. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:47 AM (#1596083)
TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPE!
   26. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:53 AM (#1596105)
.759 isn’t all that bad. It’s not good for a 1b-man but it isn’t horrible either.

Red Sox 1B with a higher OPS than Millar:

Olerud
Petagine
Youkilis
   27. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:58 AM (#1596132)
Julio must have 7 PB against us in the last 2 years.
   28. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 12:59 AM (#1596135)
I of course meant WP, not PB.
   29. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:02 AM (#1596150)
Is Youks hurt? Ejected? I mean, I know we don't want to burn him out, but I think he can handle 5 innings.
   30. fables of the deconstruction Posted: September 04, 2005 at 01:19 AM (#1596211)
Somebody stick a fork in Surhoff.

I'd be glad to but I'm 3000 miles away and even if I could, with my luck I'd get arrested for 'oblivious forking.'

Kevin,

If you're directing that question toward me, it's misdirected. I'm the harda** that won't even admit to a inner circle HOF'r belonging there until he's been retired for 4 years. Ask me about MVP's and CYA's at the end of September.

However I will admit to favoring Roger, Dodger the old Codger for NL CYA... ;) ...

that's a hideous ratio.

No more hideous than "Pete the Greek" as an owner and the 'two-headed' "Beatagan" beast...

More than Surhoff needs a fork, the Warehouse needs to be taken to with a machete. They're really F*cking up a historical advantage.

Hmm no comments about that almost-disastrous 9th
inning? We pull one out again somehow.
   34. Chip Posted: September 04, 2005 at 02:13 AM (#1596327)
Sheesh. Why the #### do they play so poorly against this team?

Renteria owes Timlin a weeks worth of dinners after that one.
   35. Fly should without a doubt be number !!!!! Posted: September 04, 2005 at 02:15 AM (#1596330)
That was scary. But, at least it worked out.
   36. chris p Posted: September 04, 2005 at 03:08 AM (#1596415)
we win! i've been to 5 games now and they're 3-0 in games that embree doesn't fsck up.
   37. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 04, 2005 at 06:10 AM (#1596613)
it's all because my father said "i want my full nine innings." in the top of the 9th.

luckily i had bought a wally the green monster, so the mojo was stopped before effecting a hideous loss.
   38. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 07:24 PM (#1597041)
There seem to be a lack of Game Chatters.
   39. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: September 04, 2005 at 07:34 PM (#1597073)
Did it look to anyone like Damon was safe sliding back into second?
   40. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 07:39 PM (#1597086)
I don't have a way to actually watch the game, so I couldn't tell you.
   41. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 08:11 PM (#1597161)
"Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Gabe Kapler replaces Johnny Damon. "

Hi-larious.

Pantload takes care of Roberts-Mora-Tejada on 8 pitches. Nice.
   43. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: September 04, 2005 at 08:20 PM (#1597173)
102 pitches for Wells. I wonder if he'll be back for the ninth.
   44. tfbg9 Posted: September 04, 2005 at 09:22 PM (#1597255)
1) Last night was nearly horrendous-Edgar!!! Gah!!!!! I've not been that pissed since Grady failed to pinch hit for Trot vs Kline in '02!

2) My Wells nickname has caught on-I finally got one!

3) Nice job posting the Sunday Game Chatters, fellas-probably it was Mahnken who screwed it up.

4) The Pantload is one magnificent as$hat.

5) Too bad Tito went with Olerude over Freedom-what a dope! He should listen to chris p. and Darren more. Heh heh.
   45. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: September 04, 2005 at 11:46 PM (#1597367)
The rest? There's only one left.

Though it is Oakland-New York.
