Well, we jinxed that but good.
   102. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:04 PM (#4166177)
That didn't look likethey bad a pitch.
   103. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4166178)
Well ########.
   104. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:07 PM (#4166180)
Do any of the other cavalcade of quasi-centerfielders from this season even get back to the wall on that? i'm thinking probably not. Maybe Podsednik, but I think he would've played the carom. Ellsbury probably does the same thing Kalish did.
   105. Chip Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:14 PM (#4166186)
Youkilis with another groundout, now 0-2.
   106. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:18 PM (#4166191)
Man Bautista totally snubbed those Jays fans by the RF wall who reached out asking for the ball.
   107. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:23 PM (#4166199)
Oh yeah... Bautista's a monster.
   108. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:31 PM (#4166206)
Rain delay. Which is freaky, because it's doing nothing here just across the river.
   109. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:39 PM (#4166212)
Any indications on how long this delay might be?
   110. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4166215)
That thunder I just heard suggests it could be a bit.
   111. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4166241)
Strasburg just beaned Scutaro right in the helmet with a fastball. holy ####.
   112. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 10:57 PM (#4166264)
Another half-hour, apparently (11:25pm). Gonna be a really late one.
   113. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:07 PM (#4166267)
Does that mean I'll be all alone talking to myself in chatter the rest of the way?
   114. Jose Can Still Seabiscuit Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:08 PM (#4166268)
Yes it does. You're the Bob Stanley of the chatter Dan, no matter how early you come in, you can go the rest of the way.
   115. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:10 PM (#4166269)
I think I'm more of a Julian Tavarez or 2011 Aceves, working mostly in low-leverage mop-up.
   116. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:11 PM (#4166272)
Depends how much this movie review/blog entry wants to fight with me. Got the day job tomorrow.

But, hey, it's good west coast swing practice for Thursday!
   117. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:13 PM (#4166273)
I usually put on a West Coast game to watch in bed on my iPad anyway with MLB.tv
   118. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:25 PM (#4166276)
Baseball!
   119. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:26 PM (#4166277)
Rajai Davis is fast. Not fast enough in this case, but pretty fast.
   120. Good cripple hitter Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:29 PM (#4166278)
They just showed Omar Vizquel dancing during the rain delay. It was easily the most entertaining thing he's done as a Jay, it really should be Gif'ed.
   121. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:30 PM (#4166280)
I will second that. I laughed.
   122. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:35 PM (#4166284)
Oh #### off, Bautista
   123. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:44 PM (#4166285)
Those shots of the stands right now are like the inverse of a shot of New Yankee Stadium.
   124. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:45 PM (#4166287)
Papi is havin' himself a year.
   125. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:45 PM (#4166288)
So you're saying NYS has no hardcore fans in it?
   126. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:45 PM (#4166289)
Wow, Ortiz. Man I was happy they were able to bring him back on a 1 year deal. That looks incredibly dumb right now.
   127. Good cripple hitter Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:46 PM (#4166290)
Pat Tabler saying "Darren Oliver knows how to pitch" two seconds before Ortiz puts one into the seats.
   128. Good cripple hitter Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:46 PM (#4166291)
... was hilarious. Apparently editing doesn't happen in chatters.
   129. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:46 PM (#4166292)
Ross's bald head in that dugout shot made me think he was Youkilis at first, before my brain had time to process it. Now I'm sad.
   130. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:47 PM (#4166293)
More like how, in a game like this, the seats behind home plate would be even more empty because letting people move down would be right out.

It almost looks like the Sox encouraged to folks who stuck around to move down to the good seats.

...

Come on, Adrian. Just come on.
   131. Jay Seaver Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:51 PM (#4166294)
Nice double by Middlebrooks.
   132. Dan Posted: June 25, 2012 at 11:51 PM (#4166295)
Yay Middlebrooks!
   133. Jay Seaver Posted: June 26, 2012 at 12:02 AM (#4166300)
Bottom of the 9th, down by three, Kalish/Punto/Nava coming up. I could feel more confident.
   134. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 12:05 AM (#4166302)
Isn't there any kind of useful hitter on the bench to hit for Punto? Let's see...Shoppach, not vs a righty...Aviles, not vs a righty, McDonald, not vs a righty, Lillibridge, not vs a righty and already in the game for no apparent reason for Ross...
   135. Jay Seaver Posted: June 26, 2012 at 12:09 AM (#4166303)
Yeah, enough of that game. G'night.
   136. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 12:09 AM (#4166304)
That was an even meeker 9th inning than I expected.
