Two 2 out walks - what the #### is ####### Dice K doing back so early - show some balls Becket - ####
   2. The Mighty Quintana Posted: August 28, 2009 at 11:58 PM (#3308165)
Never thought I'd miss Timlin, but at least he went after guys. Bring him back as a pitching coach!
   3. L. M. Gumby Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:15 AM (#3308178)
Well, looking at mlb's gamecast, at least three of the 'balls' to Buatista were clearly strikes. And I mean middle of the plate thigh high, not even close to borderline. Of course, I don't know how trustworthy gamecast might be. I assumed it used Pitch F/X data. Anyone know?
   4. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:20 AM (#3308179)
79 pitches for Beckett through 3. Great. So we'll be lucky if he makes it into the 6th. Can Green pitch back-to-back days?
   5. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:31 AM (#3308186)
Ah, the old 1-2 two out 3run HR that caps a two out nobody on rally. I hate the Jays more than any team
besides the MFY's.

And you guys are saying the umps f*cked Beckett? Great.
   6. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:33 AM (#3308189)
Pro sports are dangerous. Yikes.
   7. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:35 AM (#3308191)
Looked like Beckett was thowing at him, to tell you the truth.
   8. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:37 AM (#3308192)
Who's watching?
   9. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:38 AM (#3308193)
He is pitching like #### anyway - the 3 run shot was inevitable. This team has no shot without Beckett - time to give this team the TFC award.
   10. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:39 AM (#3308195)
TEX and TAM are losing as well.
   11. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:40 AM (#3308197)
Agreed. If Beckett tanks, so does the season.
   12. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:42 AM (#3308204)
This ump is a f*cking joke.
   13. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:43 AM (#3308205)
Time to SQUANDER!!!

(that was soooo 2008 of me)
   14. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:45 AM (#3308207)
This ump is a f*cking joke.

Just what they needed
   15. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:45 AM (#3308208)
That was not strike 3 to Bay - shocking call - this is unbearable
   16. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:45 AM (#3308209)
Another bad call. Lassus is full of it. The state of umpiring is total crap.
   17. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:47 AM (#3308210)
Hey--an RBI hit!
   18. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:47 AM (#3308211)
Another bad call. Lassus is full of it. The state of umpiring is total crap.

What does Lassus think? That umps are good?
   19. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:47 AM (#3308212)
I cannot wait for computerized ball/strike calls. Can't *wait*.
   20. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:48 AM (#3308213)
Ok back in the game - of course beckett will give these runs back
   21. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:48 AM (#3308214)
That would've been a 3 run jack in the New Big Bedpan at the Taxpayers' Expense in da' Bronx.
   22. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:49 AM (#3308216)
18--"all things considered", yes.
   23. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:49 AM (#3308217)
That 2-0 call was terrible - jesus
   24. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:53 AM (#3308221)
Lassus claimed that some study that showed the MLB umps get 95% of the balls and strikes correct demonstrates their
acceptable accuracy.

But most of the calls are easy--no brainers that cut the heart of the plate. If you think about it, the study means they're screwing up, what, 35% of the close ones?
   25. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:55 AM (#3308222)
Orsillo blew the call?
   26. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:55 AM (#3308223)
Jacoby!
   27. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:55 AM (#3308224)
Did that jackass just take a triple from Jake?
   28. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:56 AM (#3308225)
That fan just ###### the team- right??
   29. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:56 AM (#3308227)
Yes--he blew the call. As$wipe. That scores 2 easy. Can't the ump decide that? WTF?
Anybody know that rule?
   30. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:56 AM (#3308228)
No - thank god - stupid triangle
   31. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:56 AM (#3308229)
The ball bounced into the stands. I think.
   32. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:57 AM (#3308230)
Am I correct that the umpire is allowed to let a runner from first score on a ground-rule double if he obviously would have? Because that seems as open-and-shut a case as possible, with two outs and the ball taking forever to get there.
   33. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:58 AM (#3308231)
F*ck you Pedey.
   34. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:58 AM (#3308232)
Watched in slo-mo a few times, I think it was going in the stands regardless.
   35. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:58 AM (#3308233)
I hate Fenway - last night Nix has that joke double and now this - I ####### hate the place sometimes
   36. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:59 AM (#3308234)
32-I dunno--that's what I was asking. What's really aggravating is that Orsillo said it scored two, as if the umps had singalled that or something.
   37. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:59 AM (#3308235)
34-that's how it seemed to me as well.
   38. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 12:59 AM (#3308236)
Am I correct that the umpire is allowed to let a runner from first score on a ground-rule double if he obviously would have? Because that seems as open-and-shut a case as possible, with two outs and the ball taking forever to get there.

I thought the same - which means why blood is boiling again.

Beckett gives back thE lead - BANK ON IT
   39. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:00 AM (#3308239)
Aha, I couldn't find the exact MLB rule but baseball-reference says "A ground rule double in either the technical or common sense allows all runners to advance exactly two bases. A runner from first base is thus required to stop at third, even if he obviously could have scored had the ball not gone out of play. This rigidness of awarding bases distinguishes ground rule doubles from fan interference, in which the umpire is free to award as many bases to each player as he deems appropriate."
   40. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:01 AM (#3308240)
You suck Beckett - pull him NOW tITO
   41. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:01 AM (#3308241)
Oh my goodness, its Dane Cook. Like this isn't bad enough with the lead-off double.
   42. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:01 AM (#3308242)
I hate Dane Cook
   43. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:02 AM (#3308243)
Thanks dfan
   44. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:03 AM (#3308245)
Found it, the rule is 6.09(e). Runners just advance two bases.
   45. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:03 AM (#3308246)
What a sissy toss ny Cook.

39-so that answers it. It was a ground rule double, two bases.
   46. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:04 AM (#3308247)
Yes thanks.
   47. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:04 AM (#3308248)
0-2--get the f*cking K!
   48. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:05 AM (#3308249)
Lil' Tease Time. Looks like he may get out of it, but just watch.
   49. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:05 AM (#3308250)
Here comes the 2 out killer hit
   50. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:06 AM (#3308251)
you suck Beckett - you are a ####### joke
   51. Biff isn't really an apt handle anymore Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:06 AM (#3308252)
Rod ####### Barajas? Pull your ####### head out of your ####### ass Beckett.
   52. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:06 AM (#3308253)
Like we said. And a bomb.
   53. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:06 AM (#3308254)
Josh Beckett can not get Barajas out - that is the story of the season .
   54. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:08 AM (#3308255)
49-worse the 2 out killer bomb. Josh--he seems a little slow on the gun lately--usually the NESN gun has him sitting 95 or so.
   55. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:08 AM (#3308257)
If he comes anywhere near the mound I will seriously ####### kill someone.

What a joker - three sub par efforts in a row
   56. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:09 AM (#3308258)
I blame Dane Cook and his pathetic...everything.
   57. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:09 AM (#3308259)
Post 38 - I'm so proud of myself - #### you Beckett
   58. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:10 AM (#3308260)
I'm a big Beckett fan for life, unless he signs with the Yankees. He carried us on his back to a title in 2007.
   59. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:11 AM (#3308261)
I blame Dane Cook and his pathetic...everything.

I blame V Mart - it is his fault catching him - oh wait - its captain #### wad behind the plate - who can the media pin this one on?? Perhaps Beckett for once...
   60. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:11 AM (#3308262)
Victah!
   61. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:14 AM (#3308263)
Cook than Affleck - talk about two talentless ########
   62. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:15 AM (#3308265)
I'm not a big fan of a parade of jillionaires telling me to donate money to charity. Even when its a fine charity.
It just bugs me.
   63. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:15 AM (#3308266)
Well, the White Sox tied up the Yanks, and the Rangers and Rays are both losing, so there's that.
   64. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:16 AM (#3308267)
WHY DON'T ALL YOU RICH VAIN DOUCHES GIVE 10% OF THE MONEY YOU'LL NEVER EVEN SPEND, AND THE CHARITY IS SET FOR 5O YEARS, AND WE CAN WATCH THE F*CKING BALLGAME?
   65. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:17 AM (#3308268)
Jason ####### Bay, #####!
   66. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:17 AM (#3308269)
Bland Bomber!

Bring back Afleck! He's the magical douche!
   67. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:17 AM (#3308270)
bay !

If Beckett comes back - I kill someone
   68. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:18 AM (#3308271)
May as well enjoy Bay, I don't think he'll be back next year.
   69. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:19 AM (#3308272)
So, what do ya' offer Bay...3 years, 48 million, w/a club option 4th?
   70. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:19 AM (#3308273)
You know Gone Baby Gone has its moment - but Affleck is still a douche - though Good Will Hunting does has significance for me...
   71. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:20 AM (#3308274)
Its gonna be Saito Phil--he's gonna suck as well.
   72. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:20 AM (#3308275)
70-yes, its the flick that made you a Sox fan, right Phil?
   73. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:21 AM (#3308276)
Affleck seems to be a decent guy for a douche, as least as far as charitable work goes. Of course I have no idea how much of his own money he's contributed.
   74. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:23 AM (#3308277)
Afleck's shining moment is in Dazed and Confused, playing himself.
   75. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:24 AM (#3308279)
Don't walk him
   76. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:24 AM (#3308280)
So, what do ya' offer Bay...3 years, 48 million, w/a club option 4th?

I think that's a fine offer, and one that won't get it done. He's not the hitter Teixeira is, but he's about the same age and he can play the OF reasonably. He's not going to take less than a third of the total deal Tex got, IMHO.
   77. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:24 AM (#3308281)
Risky 3-2 by Saito, but it worked.
   78. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:26 AM (#3308283)
Afleck's shining moment is in Dazed and Confused, playing himself.

I know a lot of people think it's pat/trite/cliche/whatever, but I really like Good Will Hunting, and think Afleck was very good in that.
   79. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:27 AM (#3308284)
The 1-1 was a strike.

I was using the Lowell contract as a guide, BGR...
   80. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:28 AM (#3308286)
78--he was pretty good. I'm mostly kidding. I don't really have any major beef w/the man.
   81. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:29 AM (#3308288)

First date with Mrs. Coorey? (just guessing)
   82. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:29 AM (#3308289)
That 1-1 call was shocking still angry.

I like Good Will Hunting - that scene when he talks abuot Game 6 1975 - is why I became a fan. That and my hate of the Yankees...
   83. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:30 AM (#3308290)
F*ck you Saito. Really, f*ck you.
   84. Benji Gil Gamesh is not being paid to be that guy Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:30 AM (#3308291)
80 - I figured. Affleck, like I'd say Alec Baldwin before him, was better when he wasn't such a big "star."
   85. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:30 AM (#3308292)
The two out rallies are payback for the Saturday win over the Yankees - I hate baseball sometimes
   86. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:31 AM (#3308296)
Saito will give up runs here to Overbay--or BB him.
   87. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:32 AM (#3308297)
First date with Mrs. Coorey? (just guessing)

Can't rememeber the first movie we saw - maybe High Fidelity...
   88. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:33 AM (#3308298)
That has been a strike all f*cking night.
   89. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:33 AM (#3308299)
That was strike 3 - here comes the hit
   90. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:33 AM (#3308302)
Can you belive Sederstrom here - amazing
   91. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:34 AM (#3308303)
#### you ump - #### you
   92. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:35 AM (#3308304)
I am genuinely surprised. Fooled him with the 3-2 sluvey thang, w/Sox-slayer Vernon "I'm Getting Paid--F*ck You" Wells on deck, ready for the GS.
   93. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:35 AM (#3308306)
Lets run this stiff, finally.
   94. tfbg9 Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:36 AM (#3308307)
BTW, is that the 1st semi-high leverage inning that Saito's gotten through?
   95. Phil Coorey. Posted: August 29, 2009 at 01:37 AM (#3308308)

Seems like it - he showed soem testicles there to get out of the jam

This guy I feel for. Good luck Joe.
