Anyone around today?

I am, but I'm preoccupied with watching Justin Verlander continue to pitch like a robot.

Quick status update:

In the season preview thread, I set the over/under for Cubs homers this year at 120.5.

Their current pace through 5 games is: 97

I also set the over/under at 16.5 for players on the Opening Day roster to still be in the organization at season's end.

That current number is 25.

I'll update these stats mostly daily basis in game chatters throughout the year.

Way for Soriano to make a pretty simple catch look very difficult. At least he got it, though.

Ernie just introduced John Grisham as "one of the greatest writers in literary history."

Grisham proceeded to do a rendition of TMOTTB that can only be described as "Ditkaesque".

K-Rod just walked Castro and Soriano back-to-back with two outs. He even had Soriano 1-2. That takes some kind of special talent.

It was only the second walk taken of the year so far for both of them.

And of course nothing came of it. Bleh.

2 walks over 6 games isn't terrible.

Reed Johnson is though.
